Yes, I used mods.

Gadheras

Squire
Loading up the game after todays hotfix, and now most character portraits in the game either very black face, or quite the opposite looking like they been sprinkled with fairy dust or something. Items and troop list affected as well with graphic issues.

No mods used that should affect graphic in any way.

Same is happening to me.

Same over here and that Temeon looks like he's been torched.
Really frustrating that they added a new graphics issue on top of the other ongoing issue with graphics some of us have(spinning icons, textures bloating up in combat etc etc)

Same here, but is happening with another related bug: it seems that the game "forgets" to load some textures after running the game for a while, from character faces to equipment and goods icons. In earlier versions this bug was a little annoying but the time is started to appear again after restarting the game was fair to make it playable, but now? is like an horror house.

Same here, plus as you can't rollback a hot fix to my knowledge I assume we are stuck with this until at least Monday. Why couldn't they have added the bandit invasion bug back as at least that was an interesting way to break the game, this one is just depressing. 1.5.8 has not exactly been a great success so far but I'd managed to ride out most of the issues so far, this one though...

Also - this might be unrelated to this bug, but - Is anyone else having the ?(Without the bell) cursor replacing the normal mouse cursor? This was happening to me since 1.5.8. before these hotfixes. It might just be my save though?

Here I thought it was just me. Popped a new graphics card in today, went to play and this happened. It being bannerlord itself was not the first thing I tried to diagnose >.<

Yeah this is racist!! Lol jkjk But yeah its pretty unplayable right now BETA 1.5.8 has been a bad patch so far but I look forward to the improvements y'all will make I am a big fan!

Same here, it started with textures failing to load and ended up with everyone looking like they crawled down a chimney.

I'm glad this is a patch issue and not mods or graphics card failure.

I'm getting this bug too. No mods. - Also quite a few items are turning up rainbow coloured.

At this point it only appears to be in character/item portraits.

It's only a cosmetic bug lads... Let's not get too dramatic lol
I was playing a one off custom siege defense in a desert scene and one of the "floor" textures within the castle was Hot Pink.

Also "Literally unplayable" is a bit of a meme, but the bug certainly does a number on my motivation to play.

Maybe being a little dramatic, but it's only because of the graphics that I play Bannerlord rather than Warband as Bannerlords only real advantage over Warband is it's cosmetics.

Same here... Dudes with lightsabers lookin like Rainbow Brite...
Items are nearly impossible to distinguish, as they are all black blobs. People? Fuhget aboouut it!

Mind you, I run this game with excellent hardware :
  • Win 10 (v. 20H2, build 19042.804)
  • AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
  • EVGA RTX 3080 XC3 Ultra (Driver version 461.72)
  • PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 SSD (2nd-ary drive, not OS drive)
  • 32 GB DDR4 RAM
Running the game at :
  • Max gfx settings, except
    • Motion Blur off
    • Film Grain off
    • Bloom off
    • DoF off
  • 4k monitor
  • refresh rate 119Hz
  • frame limit 120fps
  • borderless fullscreen
CHanged stuff above, no difference.

As for fixing it? I tried :
  1. Clearing shader cache @ : C:\ProgramData\Mount and Blade II Bannerlord\Shaders
  2. Deleting shader files in Install Dir, followed by "Verify files"
  3. Full uninstall, reboot, reinstall.
  4. No mods
  5. With mods that fix bugs only
  6. With mods that add or edit assets.
Nothing changed the issue. Even modded items appeared glitched out.

This is 100% an issue with the code of the base game, and frankly a bit insane to see happen.
I can load data ABSURDLY fast. Faster than the game can even handle it with 4500MB/s data rate on the SSD and somehow the game cant load a few JPEGs? ...OOPS sorry, they might be TIF or GIF or something else.

Regardless, its a piece of data that needs to be loaded into memory... How is the game lagging when its loading a STATIC IMAGE FROM AN m.2 SSD WITH A DATA RATE OF 4500MB/s?!

That's what pisses me off most. The game is only using like 1/3rd of the available 10GB of memory of my GPU. Literally.. max settings with no DLSS is 3390 MB of 10078 MB. FRACKING USE MORE AND KEEP THAT CRAP IN MEMORY IF YOU CANT RELOAD IT PROPERLY.

This problem seems progressive. For me it started with longer and loner loading times for item icons (those white circles progress bar persisting for a long time before icon appears), then item and character icons started looking funky (black, rainbow colored etc), then in-battle textures stopped loading (no textures on unit armors and items around the battle scene)
.

Same here, I have had the same problems as well. Maybe glitchtrap invade bannerlord

We are aware of this issue sadly our fixes for this one did not work. Please know that we are working on this issue to fix it as soon as possible.
One last thing that remains that you can do on your side is deleting the shader data folder to see if this makes a difference? We are still investigating this issue on our end. We are truly sorry for any inconvenience.
Can you try deleting the contents of "C:\ProgramData\Mount and Blade II Bannerlord\Shaders" and "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Mount & Blade II Bannerlord\Modules\Native\TileSets\pages" folders and verifying your game files?
