300 trading

At the end of the day we are talking about a single player game and in my mind there is no such thing as an exploit in a single player game because you can always choose not to do whatever it is that allows you to exploit the game if you feel it is game breaking.

That being said, there really is nothing wrong with 300 trading allowing you to buy any fief in the game. If you don't like it, don't use it.

I guess my issue is that I like it as a concept but don't like it as it is implemented. Instead of it being a "Don't like it, Don't use it" situation for me, I would like to be able to actually use it but in a way that actually would make sense if this was a real world. The game would feel more immersive to me if this was the case. Also it would always be easier to mod out restrictions if the core mechanics that restrict it were in place than to try to add restrictions that never existed in the first place. In fact I can't see anyone actually taking the time to mod in complex restrictions to the buying/selling of fiefs with 300 trade but if these restrictions were in place in Native, then I could very well see someone modding them out.

I guess that's where I disagree about the whole nature of perks.

300 level perks effectively make you the Rupert Murdoch or Pichai Sundararajan of Calridia. They make you the absolute master of your field, and of world leading renown. Rupert Murdoch isn't an Olympic athlete and Major General and media magnate. He has specialised in the media industry for a long time. Pichai Sundararajan isn't a famous aviator and political leader and Hollywood actor, he's a tech entrepreneur and it has taken him a lifetime to get there. Sure there are savants who become famous sooner, but in game we can boost our favourite perks as well, and you can get to 300 Trade in game with a little hard work in 600 - 1000 days. Hardly a lifetime - especially considering you start with nothing but the shirt on your back.

High end perks should be super hard to obtain. They should take an in-game lifetime to achieve, and there should not be enough time in game to get all your perks to high level - you should be forced to choose.

Game breaking perks, like being able to trade cities (even though you're a feudal vassal who shouldn't be able to do that) should be next to impossible to get without a whole lot of work in that field. You are literally taking the power of a king (as a vassal) and literally turning your kingdom into a banana republic - whereby your kingdom (and others) have become just another arm in your private enterprise - in the same way that Google might buy Chicago or News Corp might buy London, or London's mayor might buy Berlin.

600-1000 days to reach 300 in trade? Best ive seen is 1800 days  but guess peeps got personal experience on how to get 300 trading in max 1000 days - even so compared to other playstyles it still is not even close to a decent playthrough imo

From my experience you can get 1/2 the map in 1000 days with brute force - (all castles and 15 clans) - And compared to trade where you can get 1-3 castles and 0 clans?

Even if you are stubborn and go for the 1000 days of trade you end up with 1-3 castles you still got 0 clans - If war is made upon you - who will defend your castles? You vs. a kingdom with 8-12 clans?
Imo trading schould be more viable and easyer to get into - Something that is fun on the side that can get you some ingame bonuses

Glad it can be modded :p

If you have the kind of money you should have when you hit 300 trade, I find it hard to accept you would not have any lords. I actually won the dialog minigame with a lord that hated me, something like -58 relation and even he would join my Kingdom for around 15 million Denars. Basically you just need to talk to all the lords you have good relation with and buy their loyalty.

Also it is pretty obvious you would have some sort of mixed playstyle where you would conquer some fiefs and buy others but again to me, if feels pretty cheap that I can just talk to the owner of a fief with a god tier garrison that would be almost impossible to take and just flat out buy the fief as long as I had enough money. Again this feels like a "cheat" to me, a way to bypass the hard parts. I guess I would have a different mindset if the cost to buy a fief was astronomical or if money wasn't so easy to make in the game, especially as a trader, thus making to so you might have to save something like 100 million Denars just to buy a single town, then I would be ok with it.
