At the end of the day we are talking about a single player game and in my mind there is no such thing as an exploit in a single player game because you can always choose not to do whatever it is that allows you to exploit the game if you feel it is game breaking.
That being said, there really is nothing wrong with 300 trading allowing you to buy any fief in the game. If you don't like it, don't use it.
I guess my issue is that I like it as a concept but don't like it as it is implemented. Instead of it being a "Don't like it, Don't use it" situation for me, I would like to be able to actually use it but in a way that actually would make sense if this was a real world. The game would feel more immersive to me if this was the case. Also it would always be easier to mod out restrictions if the core mechanics that restrict it were in place than to try to add restrictions that never existed in the first place. In fact I can't see anyone actually taking the time to mod in complex restrictions to the buying/selling of fiefs with 300 trade but if these restrictions were in place in Native, then I could very well see someone modding them out.
