NOTE
The next patch is supposed to change the stats of the unit which might be soon, i will update them then.
From my understanding in captain mode the unit you initially spawn with (hero) has the stats of the skirmish character or TDM however you want to call it. While bots have different stats.

We still haven't been told how exactly the stats influence the gameplay, since devs said it doesn't work the way it works in SP, I think they might have even said that the stats are turned off for MP? Can't remember.

I am not exactly sure but they must influence it somehow. They wouldn't have made two different list of stats designed specifically for bots and make different skills and have it not do anything.
 
Kind of weird tbh, I definitely don't feel any difference when using a crossbow as an infantry or riding a horse as an infantry, especially if you compare them in singleplayer with similar statlines, riding is way off.
 
Interesting to note that for Skirmish, the only non-cavalry unit with a boosted stat in polearm is Palatine Guard for their menavlion. No love for the Khan's Guard and glaive.

Weirdest thing is that the inf unit that is specialized to use only polearm gets nothing compared to heavy archer unit :unsure:

It could just mean that perks arnt enabled tbh

I’ve stolen many horses as a peasant. I can assure you trying to juke arrows on a barded mount is way harder with peasant than a knight. Edit: that could be placebo on my part now that I’ve seen the stats, I didn’t test for it

Very cool @Younes123 please do update it so scrubs like me have an idea of what’s going on

Im going to call bull**** on infantry only having 20 archery skill. The crosshair when firing is no different from any ranged class.

Maybe the difference is in accuracy at much longer ranges? That would make sense but yeah there’s no difference in the crosshair bounce

I believe these numbers come from the mpcharacters xml file in your bannerlord install folder, you can read using notepad

Also, I think I've seen a dev statement somewhere that player characters work differently than NPC's, so the speculation in the OP about bots having different stats could be true. These might also just be the bot stats for captain mode but I didn't look closely enough to see if there's a distinguishing mark between captain and skirmish mode stats

In the plans for MP thread I saw one of the devs say that they are changing movement speed, swing speed, and feints. Im curious how you are changing some of these things without also changing weapon proficiency. I guess what I am really wondering is what the different stats actually do. If the proficiency doesnt affect speed then what exactly is it affecting?

Unfortunately, I personally do not work on these issues. But weapon proficiency is one thing, combat parameters are another.
