Beta Patch Notes e1.4.0

Users who are viewing this thread

Screenshot of Throwing weapons dealing ABSURD damage after patch 1.4. Note that my throwing skill is 23 and that the javelins are only tier 2. Also with good armor (absorbed 37 damage) I was dealt 83 damage by by a javelin in the arm while backpedaling.

Edit: this was on foot.

Maybe they increased piercing damage overall to try to make spears more powerful. I'm too lazy to check because I don't have a current game since there's really no reason to play at the moment.

It's not thrusting pierce damage. That hasn't seemed to change. It's projectile damage, thrown and arrows, that has changed. I and a few others on the forums think it might be a change in velocity's effect on projectile damage calculation, but I'm not sure the exact cause. I should hop on a horse and see how much the damage spikes. I am always on foot in my current playthrough.

Hello 'DeBlue', how and where have I been hostile and aggressive towards you?
Kindly reply at your earliest.

Thanks.
Not towards me. I'm reading through the comments and saw you calling people kids and stupid for criticizing the devs for what I too find the game to lack too much content even for an early access game. I think you should let us have our opinions, yes some are too harsh towards the devs but some like me simply disappointed and want the game to become a great game.

How can you have a relevant opinion if you haven't played the game and think its not in a playable state to even test. Sounds like you made up your mind and are just trolling now to be toxic. If you quit then stop posting on the forums as well, your feedback isn't relevant on this post.

Guys, are you really think that there are a lot of very skilled, talented or experienced game developers working in this company. I swear the god, almost all of their employers learning game development after they started working there. These are not my opinions, the founder of this company already have confessed that in some of the his interview. As a Turkish, i can easly say that i know most of the their employers profile and almost all of them spending their time on youtube videos to learn gameing. Most of the employers have zero knowhow. I bet, if m&b mod community can organise themselfs, probably this game only takes just a couple of year instead of ten years. And if you wanna know how professional they are, pls check that their open positions from their main websites. When you skim over some of the big or medium scaled video game companys website, you can see that very specficed open positions like enviroment designer, Ai specialist, physic engine specialist, UI designer or art designer. Please after read this, check that their open positions or position  They are only looking for a computer engineer. This is their professionalty unforcunutelly

LMAO

Well, I am also a software developer in one of largest tech company in turkey. The problem is Turkey doesn't have that much game developers. Most of new tw employees are their interns who are graduated from best universities (ODTU & Bilkent) in Turkey. It is a natural process to learn something while you are working on it.

Let's be honest. This is not a easy game to develop. They are trying to build an open world game with least amount of ai cheat. This brings a lot of complexity. The problem is tw is stuck somewhere between an indie startup company and a big game development company. I am sure they are putting lots of effort but not just into correct areas.

By the way, fixing perks one by one is a bad idea for save game compatibility.

I don´t really think that it does matter where they come from. They just don´t care.

If you don´t care it doesn´t matter if you are turkish, polish, german, italian, chinese or whatever. They made their money with the EA release and thats it. Soon(2-3 months) those "wannabe" updates will stop and they will call it a finished game.

Steam reviews will also change, they have a awesome fanbase, but even the fanboys will have to face reality.

Why do you think that? They continued to update Warband for years, at least 5. The original M&B was a slightly ragged EA too but they stayed with it for 5 years also. This is apparently how they work, the history is clear. I'm not expecting anything different here.

I remember in previous patches it use to give a +1 militia bonus. Seems like it lost its decimal or got some 0's added.
Can they learn from this mistake (seriously) and do this for the Medicine skill?
I wonder if it's just like how skill+ are displayed as like +.02 and such, and the person just coded the militia bonus as 1, but to the game it needed to be .01, or something like that.

Armagan is a man of honour, he would never allow something like this.

You miss one very important thing. All they could earn on PC they already earned. And there is a huge console market, which I'm sure is their next goal. But consoles are not like steam, you can't release half-dead game there. You have to pass certification at Sony/Microsoft with their professional QA. If half the perks do nothing, nobody will notice. But if a game will crash every 5 minutes, you can forget about it. And recertification costs money and time! That's why all these poor interns are now working for food to fix these crashes. And we serve as testers for stabilizing the game.

(before somebody goes mad - I'm joking)
