Summary: There is currently a downward spiral for food shortage in Cities because food shortage negatively influences prosperity, and vice versa. My city of Ortysia was already at over 6300 prosperity and had positive food production, but when I put troops into my garrison, I suddenly had a food shortage after a couple of days. There is currently NO way to counter this effectively. I only had around 200 garrisoned troops, of the over 500 I could have. In contrast the food stocks are way to small. But the MAIN PROBLEM is that my prosperity just eats my food production completely, the higher it gets, even if I have the city set to food production. If I go to the trade menu, there is plenty food (over 300 grain, and 30-50 grapes, fish, meat, cheese, butter, dates...) but still it says food is short, just because of the high prosperity values.
Now after a few weeks, my prosperity is dropping constantly because of food shortage. At the same time, my garrisoned troops are leaving because of food shortage. And the food shortage still remains because of prosperity.
There NEEDS to be a WAY TO COUNTER! Let me donate money/food directly to the city management so I can counter the food shortage, I have 1500 grain in my inventory and a lot of other food, plus over 3.5 million gold, but I can't do anything. Let me donate money to villages so they can increase their militia, so they don't get raided as easily. Let me have a companion and his party patrol between the cities and villages I own to fight looters and bandits (not just have the companion wander of to do whatever, but actually give him commands and a patrol route or whatever). There's many possible solutions, the easiest is to increase the possible food stocks and let me donate food manually. Right now it's completely broken.
After a couple month of constant food shortage (I tried selling tons of food to the market regularly but it didn't do anything) my prosperity dropped by over a thousand to 5200, my food shortage still is very high, and my garrisoned troops have almost all left... That is just frustrating. Happens in a similar fashion in all my cities.
How to Reproduce: Happens automatically to cities once the prosperity gets high enough and you have some troops in the garrison.
