April 1257 - An unknown man joins the Nobility of the Kingdom of Vaegirs, quickly becoming their Champion Fighter.

October 1257 - The Kingdom of Vaegirs invades Praven with the help of the Vaegir Champion, capturing the city and executing King Harlaus. The rest of Swadia crumbles and is quickly subjugated.

December 1257 - The Kingdom of Nords decide to stage their own invasion, quickly taking Rivacheg, as the King was occupied in Swadia with the majority of his army. Yaroglek sends his Champion to deal with the threat. His army is never heard from again. The Nords claim to have ambushed and killed him. Yaroglek takes several lords and over 1,000 men to crush the Nord invaders.

February 1258 - The Vaegirs beat the Nords back to their own territory. Other nations begin to see their own opportunities, with the Khergits encroaching from the south, the Rhodoks seige and take Suno.

March 1258 - The Khergits are outraged at the Rhodoks display of aggression and attempt to assassinate many high ranking members of the Rhodok Royal Council, and succeed in killing the King's daughter, Elisa. In retaliation, the Rhodoks rally every available man to invade the Khanate. As many as 3,000 men march towards Steppe territory. Meanwhile, The Vaegirs beseige Wercheg.

May 1258 - The Rhodoks reach Narra and completely raze it to the ground. The Khergits send a response force of about 1,000 men, which manages to half the size of the Rhodok army. The Nords send a small force to Culmarr Castle, to find it completely empty. They occupy it, and quickly spread towards Itrosq Castle and Yalen.

September 1258 - The Nords have advanced to Veluca, and are beseiging it against a small militia. The Vaegirs finally take Wercheg after 6 months. The Rhodoks capture Halmar but are forced to retreat to force back the Nords.

June 1264 - The Rhodoks ambush King Yaroglek near Suno and kill him. Prince Valdym "The Bastard" claims the throne and is crowned King. The Kingdom is weakened, however, and the Nords quickly retake Wercheg and advance straight towards Reyvadin.

July 1264 - The Rhodoks continue their delayed offensive of the Khergit Khanate. Sanjar Khan sends half his army through a mountain pass to invade the Vaegir Kingdom.

December 1264 - The Rhodoks besiege Ichamur. The Khergit invasion force is beaten back by a bitter winter and is trapped in the mountain pass. They aren't heard from again. The commander was the son of Sanjar Khan, Ahmed. He makes a plea to King Graveth to show him mercy as he knows the pain of losing a child. Graveth agrees but decides to keep the territories the Rhodoks invaded.

27th December 1264 - Kings Valdym and Ragnar meet at Rivacheg to discuss a peace settlement, as both sides agree that the war is a stalemate. The peace accords are signed on the 27th of December 1264.

January 1267 - Nearly 10 years after its subjugation, the people of Swadia revolt against the Vaegirs in a popular uprising, led by a woman named Isolla. It is rumoured she was helped by an unknown beneficiary, but it cannot be proven. The uprising proves effective and even castle guards join. Many of the Vaegir Lords and Nobility are slaughtered at the hands of the peasantry and many castles stripped completely bare.

4th April 1268 - The Swadians have recaptured all their territory back from the Vaegirs, but allow the Rhodoks to keep Suno due to their military strength. The Lady Isolla declares the Kingdom of Swadia a Republic and splits it into city-states, and becomes First Minister.
9th January 1302 - First Minister Isolla dies. A new Minister, Marik, is elected.

March 1310 - The Kingdom of Nords opens its borders to immigrants from other kingdoms, as the political stability of other nations starts to waver.

30th March 1310 - King Graveth dies. King Darius is crowned.

August 1313 - The Ministers of the Swadian Republic become disgruntled with Marik's leadership skills. Marik retaliates by using Ministers loyal to him to pass a referendum merging each individual city-state together. The Ministers vote almost unanimously in favour of creating a single country called the United Swadian Alliance.

December 1313 - United, the Swadian government demands restitution from the Kingdom of Vaegirs for causing 10 years of suffering for the Swadian people 60 years ago. King Valdym II refuses, stating that their quarrel was with his father, not him. The government are outraged by this pathetic exuse and declare the first war on the continent since the Swadian uprising in 1267.

January 1314 - A cold war begins between the Swadians and Vaegirs, with neither side risking aggression due to the Vaegir's peace accords with the Nords and the Rhodok's pledge to defend the Swadians.

1st October 1329 - Sanjar Khan dies. Tojoah is declared the new Khan.

15th June 1347 - A previously unseen virus starts becoming quite common in the Nordic town of Wercheg. Within 4 days, people start collapsing in the street and anyone displaying symptoms is confined to their house. Despite this, over 2,000 people are dead by the end of the month.

June 1348 - After 1 year, the virus known as 'Yellow Fever' has already killed 15,000 people, and has spread to all other countries expect the Khergits. The virus has also claimed the life of King Harald.

July 1355 - 8 years later, the Fever has claimed over 32,000 people, including Kings Valdym II and Darius, but has still kept out of the Khergit lands. A travelling merchant discovers that this is because the Khergits have a cure for the Fever. He pays 10,000 Denars for the recipe and sets about distributing it to the various nations.

January 1359 - There are no new cases of deaths associated with Yellow Fever. However, the land is devestated, with the Nordic lands being the worst affected. Only 6% of the pre-fever population are still alive and living in a Nordic town. As every single member of the Nobiity has been killed, high-ranking officials form an emergency Council and make a plea to all other nations for any possible aid.

February 1360 - As many as 8,000 people emigrate to the Nordic lands. The emergency government meet and decide to form a new country, as the Nord population is now 2% of what it originally was. They decide to form the Calradian Confederacy, to reflect the multi-culturalism. No leader is selected, the country being run instead by a ruling Council.

6th March 1362 - First Minister Marik dies. A new Minister, Eduna, is elected.

September 1368 - In the wake of the devestation, the Kingdom of Rhodoks is unable to manage all its territory, and agrees to give back ownership of Suno to the Swadian Alliance. Additionally, the Rhodoks and Swadians sign an official Economic Alliance, allowing both nations to profit from each other and develop quicker. Several new Ministers are appointed to manage the Political affairs of the Rhodoks.

13th May 1375 - Tojoah Khan dies. Mehmet is declared the new Khan.

11th November 1378 - 20 years after the death of Valdym II, the Vaegirs finally crown a new King, Georg. There are rumours that he bribed the Royal Council, and the population are disgruntled from the beginning.

26th April 1396 - First Minister Eduna dies. A new Minister, Seruda, is elected.

14th July 1511 - The 200 year Cold War between the Vaegirs and Swadians becomes hot after a Vaegir merchant is accidentally killed by a Swadian Guard outside Praven. As a result, the Vaegirs declare war on the Swadians, the Rhodoks defend the Swadians and the Nords join the Vaegirs. The Khergits attack the Vaegirs in a second attempt through the mountain pass. Thus, the First Calradian War begins.

September 1511 - Detail about the conflict is hard to come by after September, as many of the records were either lost, stolen or destroyed.

8th March 1522 - Vaegir King Valdym IV dies. His daughter, Mertha, is crowned as the first ever Queen. She almost immediately declares the formation of a Constitutional Monarchy to help during the conflict and to ease the political instability following her father's death.

August 1529 - A Senior Swadian Minister proposes to the Council a political seperation from the Rhodok state, offering to start up a new, stable government to manage the political affairs of Rhodok. The Council accepts, as the war is already costing them enough, without having to manage 2 countries. As there hasn't been a King in Rhodok for nearly 200 years, Rhodok is declared a Republic, and Minister Seriduer is made Chairman of the Council.

26th May 1535 - Both Chairman Seriduer and First Minister Fredrick die. Damon is appointed as the new Chairman. Several candidates come forward for the title of First Minister, as Fredrick didn't appoint a successor.

3rd January 1538 - Calradian WW1 ends. The leading representative of each nation meets to sign a ceasefire. A new town, Zendar, is founded at the location where the agreement was signed. As part of the ceasefire, all nations agree that Zendar shall forever remain a neutral town, safe from war. A veteran from the war, Hareck, is appointed as Constable and the Arena attracts dozens of combatants.

12th October 1542 - Mehmet Khan II dies. Mehmet Khan III is declared the new Khan, becoming the youngest leader at the age of just 11.

September 1550 - A Rhodok patrol is forced into the forests north of Veluca by Bandits. After losing their pursuers, they discover a cave teeming with Gold Ore. A major mining operation begins 3 days later.

30th March 1552 - After 12 years of dispute, a new First Minister, Rodila, is appointed. Aged 18, she is the youngest female leader of a country.

1555 - The Rhodok mining operation is well underway. The West Empire Company quickly becomes a large institution. Some predict that at least 1000 tons of Gold exists in one mine alone. By the end of 1555, Rhodok trade income has increased tenfold, with most of the Gold going to Zendar and their allies, the Swadians.

20th February 1561 - A Director of the WEC is fired on a technicality. In a rage, he attempts to assasinate the Chairman, Damon. He fails, and is summarily executed, but Damon is wounded and dies from an agressive infection a week later. A new Chairman, Greck, is appointed.

February 1574 - Chairman Greck proposes changing the government to a more economic-oriented one, to relfect their vastly increased wealth, with state-wide revenue up by 650% on average, from Politician to Peasant. Greck adopts the title "Grand Financial Director" and the Council is completely changed. Monuments to money and profit are built in every city and castle, and the Rhodoks provide 5% of all revenue to their faithful allies, the Swadians.

10th December 1578 - Queen Mertha dies. Having ruled for 56 years, she becomes the longest ruling leader in history, which will remain so for another 400 years. Her daughter, Amika, is crowned.

1800 - Since the late 16th Century, Calradia had been in a state of peaceful growth, with each major power becoming more unique politically, economically and culturally. However, this was to change in the first year of the 19th Century.

4th January 1800 - Eager to become a peacekeeping force in Calradia, Zendar is rapidly advancing in military technology. On this date, the Zendar Research Academy successfully tests the first ever Breech-Loading Rifle. The first model, the Z1, is promptly put into production. Only 500 Z1's are ever created, and the design plans for the model are burnt to prevent any of the major powers from being able to create their own.

7th April 1800 - The Grand Rhodok Republic has finally exhausted the massive reserves of Gold from the mines in the Western Mountains. The WEC is forced to look into new ventures and many of the population, finding that they can't sustain their vast expenses, sell many of their possessions to the Swadian Alliance and the prosperous Zendar.

16th April 1800 - Khergit Khan Mohammed II dies. His daughter, Mirhja, is declared Khan. However, Mirhja announces that she was the adoptive daughter of Mohammed II, and was in fact born to a peasant family. In light of this revelation, the Royal Council rebel, but their plot doesn't even get off the ground before they are all killed by Mirhja's guards. Mirhja then proceeds to declare herself an Empress, with full power over the affairs of state. This gave her the power to help the area of society she came from. Her selflessness earned her the title of "The People's Empress".

2nd June 1800 - The Vaegir Royal Council, angry at Mirhja's execution of the Royal Council declare war against her. However, while the Vaegir's Cannons are powerful, their Muskets are no match for the modern Khergit ones. The Vaegirs call on the Calradian Confedracy for help.

8th June 1800 - The Calradian Confederacy agree to help on the condition that the Vaegirs share military technology. The Vaegirs agree to this and 5,000 men begin a long march over the Southern Mountains. The SA, keen to protect trade interests, sends an army of 3,000 to Ichamur to defend the key trade outpost, while Empress Mirhja levies nearly 10,000 men to defend Tulga, and an additional 2,000 to defend Ichamur, as it is closest to the Mountain Pass.

16th July 1800 - The Rhodok Republic join the war on the Swadian-Khergit side, and mount attacks on the Calradian Confederacy. This signals the beginning of the Second Calradian World War. The Vaegir-CC army reaches Ichamur and within 2 hours the cannons break through the walls. However, the defenders are prepared, and many of the breaches become kill-zones as the professional Swadian army is able to use the Khergit Muskets effectively with a rank fire tactic. The entire Confederate Army, over 1,000 men, is killed on the first day.

December 1800 - The Vaegir army, failing to make any headway in assaulting Ichamur, withdraw. The Royal Council is criticised for it's stupid decision and uses the King as a scapegoat. There are widespread rebellions that the army can't contain.

May 1814 - The Rhodok attacks have crippled the Calradian Confederacy's economy. This forces them to withdraw from the war temporarily. Zendar intervene, warning that any further agression will be met with great force.

July 1820 - Amidst the riots in Vaegir territory, one man is singled out. He wears a ring bearing the symbol of the lost Vaegir Champion, who was killed nearly 600 years ago. It becomes apparant that the man had spent the evening with a tavern wench, who had given birth to a daughter shortly before he became a noble. The ring was passed down to her descendants. The most recent of these, Josef, becomes the leader of the revolutionaries.

23rd August 1823 - First Minister Andrew Bolton dies. The USA becomes a Democratic Republic by popular vote of the Council and Bolton's successor, Michael Kalinsky, is elected it's first President.

14th October 1828 - Chairman Vladimir Koleviy dies. Bhores Kravtsjuk is declared the new Chairman.

30th March 1831 - The Vaegir Revolutionary Party assassinates the King. Josef becomes leader, declares the Vaegir Kingdom a Federal State, is appointed President, bans Royalty and Nobility indefinitely and adopts his mother's maiden name: Stragandoff.

May 1844 - After a dozen people are arrested and jailed for espionage, the Rhodok Council sets up the Corporate Security Organisation to protect government secrets and corporate data.

22nd August 1847 - A makeshift explosive goes off in the Calradian Confederacy Council Chambers, killing all but 2 of the Council members. A Khergit man, Hassed bin Jadir, is arrested and executed. It is found that Jadir is an agent in the employ of Empress Mirhja. The 2 remaining Councillors, angry at the Khergits deliberate exploitation of their weak position, rename the Confederacy to The Northern Confederacy to reflect the new hatred for those in the south.

24th August 1847 - Empress Mirhja dies. Empress Mirhja II is crowned.

December 1853 - Zendar create a new model for their breech-loading rifle, called the Z2, and produce another 500. However, before the designs could be burned, they are stolen by an unknown assailant. The plans aren't seen for 70 years.

2nd February 1860 - President Kalinsky dies. Darren Bell is elected the new President. He declares that, instead of waiting until the current President dies, a new President is to be elected every 10 years.

9th June 1862 - Empress Mirhja II meets with Josef Stragandoff to discuss peace talks. Even though there has been no fighting since the beginning of the Century, there was no official ending to CWW2. While Josef is a heavy nationalist and hates royalty, he can't deny his noble roots, and is willing to bring an end to the war before it escalates further.

12th June 1862 - Mirhja II and Josef Stragandoff meet in the Royal Palace in Tulga. Despite overwhelming security, one man makes it into the room where the negotiations are taking place. He catches Josef by surpise and stabs him with a knife, killing him. He turns on the Empress, who pulls out a Pistol and shoots the man dead. It is unclear who the man was or where he came from, but it was thought he was a disgruntled Vaegir opposed to the treaty or an assassin in the employ of the Northern Confederation.

1866 - Mirhja II, in response to the opposition from Vaegirs, steps down as Empress, becoming a Nationalist Leader. This sense of patriotism and display or Republicism satisfies the Vaegirs and inspires Mirhja's descendents. A new Vaegir President, Mikhail Lenovsky, is appointed and signs the official peace treaty, ending the war.

23rd January 1870 - Chairman Bhores Kravtsjuk dies. A new Chairman, Filip Lukasik, is appointed. He brings radical new ideas that the state should work for the benefit of the people, not the other way round. He declares the Rhodok state a People's Republic and becomes a Prime Minister.

2nd February 1870 - Martin Dallas is elected as the new President of the USA.

15th September 1876 - Nationalist Mirhja II dies. Her son, Muhammed ben Haman, is named leader. His ideals are radical and his sense of patriotism is massive. As such, he declares himself an Ultranationalist Leader.

2nd February 1880 - Martin Dallas is re-elected as the President of the USA.

31st March 1888 - A massive fire nearly levels the Vaegir City of Reyvadin. The cause of the fire is unknown, but over 3,000 people are killed and the government is forced to divert resources toward its rebuilding for the next 15 years.

2nd February 1890 - Janet Andersson is elected as the first female President of the USA.

20th CENTURY

1900 onwards - Refer to Obituary Archives for information on the deaths of national leaders.

2nd February 1900 - Anthony Masters is elected as President of the USA. NOTE: Please refer to Political News Archives for later election results.

March 1917 - Many Rhodoks that were made poor by the fall of the WEC have moved to the Vaegir Federation. Their attempts to make a living by creating business and enterprises are met by increasingly strong opposition, as the government are becoming anti-capitalist. The army starts raiding the houses of the entreprenuers and their supporters, ensuring that they can't develop independent wealth.

October 1919 - In a house of one of the Capitalist supporters, some dusty old plans are found in the cellar. After careful examination by scientists, it is discovered that these plans are in fact plans for a firearm. More specifically, these are the lost plans of the Z2 Breech-Loading rifle, which was lost 70 years ago. It turns out it was stolen by a Rhodok immigrant passing through Zendar and left in the basement of his house.

April 1920 - The Vaegir Federation begin producing variants of the Z2, called the A4. However, both Zendarian and Swadian intelligence operatives find out about the plans and the A4. The Constable of Zendar condemns the Vaegir's actions. The Swadians, however, see an opportunity and offer to buy the plans for 150,000 Swadian Denars. They are immediately refused and seek to steal the plans from the Vaegirs.

November 1924 - The Khergits offer to buy the plans from the Vaegirs for 345,000 Denars. The Vaegirs, fearing a bidding war that is likely to turn violent, accept the Khergits offer. However, the courier is ambushed by Swadian assassins and the plans are stolen. The Swadians copy the plans and offer to sell the plans to the Khergits for the same 345,000 Denars it would have cost. They also offer to sell the plans to the Rhodoks for just 20,000 Rhodokian Denars.

1930 - Every nation now has access to Breech-Loading rifles and the technology to create more advanced weaponry. the Great Arms Race started during this year.

23rd June 1934 - The USA and FVS both successfully test Semi-Automatic Firearms.

1st January 1940 - As military technology is sold, shared and stolen, it appears that the GAR is gathering pace. Most of the nations have moved on from firearms, with the KSS and RPR testing explosives. The KSS, being low on resources, resorts to having to improvise with materials while creating explosives.

12th December 1947 - Zendar, horrified by the advancement in weaponry, beseeches the nations to limit how far they go, lest they wipe each other out in another World War. Each nation signs a Treaty of Limitations at Zendar limiting the Defence budget of each nation and limiting the payload of every explosive device.

1952? - A group of Khergits, unhappy with the treaty and keen to use the technology the KSS has developed, form their own militarist group. A 16-year old boy, known only as Hassan Al-Hassad, is declared the leader of this sect, called the Grand Jihad.

18th May 1961 - The Grand Jihad begin a series of bombings and raids against important landmarks and targets in the territories of other nations. Hundreds of people are killed by the attacks and several landmarks, including the Rhodok Monument of Finance and the Statue of Josef Stragandoff, are destroyed. Every nation begins a manhunt for every member of the sect, with the FVS having the most success in apprehending terrorists and discovering intelligence information about them.

19th May 1966 - The NCF, after an intelligence exchange with the FVS, mounts a massive raid on a terrorist hideout. Hassan Al-Hassad is killed and nearly all of his officers are captured and either imprisoned or executed. However, as members of the GJ are still active, a new leader is appointed, codenamed Hassan Al-Hassad. It is unknown how many individual people have lead the GJ, as each has had the codename Hassan Al-Hassad.
