Heroes Discussion Thread
Together with the City Add-On I also took over the heroes. So with the new version I also announce that you can now send in the next wave. These will be included whenever I create a new add-on and of course in the next full version.
Some of the following might seem somewhat technical, but rest assured you don't need to do anything technical to make a hero. You can ignore the exact details and specify your hero in more descriptive terms or ask for help with a particular part. The detail some of this goes into is more to be clear (like on how things work) rather than to require a lot of work to make a hero.
See the end of this post for a technical example and a descriptive example.
Each Forum Member:
1 hero each per wave (there will be 1 wave every few days until current maximum number of heroes is reached - we're currently on the 4th wave), the level is based on forum title and detailed in the following quote.
A majority of posts or activity in Custom Settlements forum doubles forum title (recruit becomes regular, veteran becomes squire, etc.). Recruits should have at least a post or so in the custom settlement forum.
The following is the information involved with a hero.
The following is the same character in descriptive format.
Names must be sensible for the setting. For instance I wouldn't name a character Wickedshot, instead I might make a name like Atura Wickedshot, or Atura the Wickedshot, though that might be too long so possibly Atura the Wicked etc.
Note: And if you are not wickedshot and supply someone with that name wickedshot or I will choose a new name (be afraid).
Combined Equipment cost must be below gold amount (200*Level).
Note: Don't use multiples of the same items for one troop, they'll only get 1 of them. And if you are ranged focused, have a backup melee weapon heh.
Total stat points to distribute:
All stats start at 4, and then 14+Level stat points can be added as you see fit (for example, a level one gets 14+1=15 extra stat points to distribute; a level 10 gets 14+10=24 extra stat points to distribute)
A heroes Level can be the number dictated by your forum title, or less if you choose.
Total skill points to distribute:
All skills start at 0, and then Level+Intelligence skill points can be added as you see fit (for example, a level 1 with 5 Int gets 1+5=6 skill points to distribute; a level 10 with 11 Int gets 10+11=21 skill points to distribute), note the skill points added to a particular skill cannot exceed the stat point that governs it divided by 3 (as per ingame levelup rules)

Note: All skills will be useful for heroes. Those that seem to have little to no effect currently will gain effects in the future, and you can suggest such in the Heroes Discussion thread.
Weapon Proficiency:
10 points per level for all weapon types, or can specify particular weapon(s) and distribute 60 points per level as you please. Weapon Master skill doesn't limit their start weapon prof distribution, instead it increases the rate at which they gain prof through combat and over time.
Face Code:
Face code can be whatever you like. In order to get a face code, simply enabled Edit mode (press Ctrl-E, may have to use the preloaders Configure>Advanced>Enable Edit Mode for Ctrl-E to work) while in the face generation part of character creation, and when you've acquired the face you want, simply click the big long number at the top left of your screen. That will copy the number, and you can paste it into any text document or post.
Home Settlements:
Reserved spots are for the creator of the settlement, open spots can be filled by anyone.Because of a limit on the total numbers of troops we have a reduction from 5 heroes per settlement to 4. Tests have shown that more heroes are possible it will stay with 5 heroes per settlement.
Each settlement can have at most 5 heroes each. 2 of the spots are reserved for the scene makers heroes, those that are still missing are marked as (reserved). EmptXXX settlements are limited to 3 spots until the settlement scenes are made and the settlement is given a name. Openings are marked with (open), heroes submitted in this post should be consistent with the city add-on 0.675+3
Must choose a Trait from each group (both Behaviour and Talent groups, listed below).
Scene Makers Bonus:
2 heroes total per settlement made for one wave
1 of which can be King/Queen level, which is Level 30 with 6000 gold worth of equipment
The other 1 is the level of your forum title, and can be given to other users and then uses their forum title level.
Must choose a starting faction for your hero, possible are
- Adventurer
- Bandit
- Mercenary (we don't have many of those for now)
- Peasant
This system for regulating submissions and restrictions on levels and such are designed to give everyone a chance but reward forum activity (especially Custom Settlements forum activity) and settlement scene contributions most. Currently there are 103 open spots for new heroes. Ultimately anyone who wants to make a hero should be able to, and lower levels can actually be an asset (lower level means easier to get in the players party, and more malleability to make them into whatever you like).
If you make changes please mark them in bold (you can't do that with code, better use quote). If you want to make changes after the hero is already included in the full version or the city add-on please also pm me, otherwise I might not notice it.

Each settlement can have at most 5 heroes each. 2 of the spots are reserved for the scene makers heroes, those that are still missing are marked as (reserved). EmptXXX settlements are limited to 3 spots until the settlement scenes are made and the settlement is given a name. Openings are marked with (open), heroes submitted in this post should be consistent with the city add-on 0.675+3
Must choose a Trait from each group (both Behaviour and Talent groups, listed below).
Behaviour Traits said:- Coward - flees all enemies except the exceptionally weak
- Brave - engages all enemies regardless of strength
- Builder - spends more time trying to build up their settlement peacefully
- Chivalrous - always joins a fight to help a friend (or at least sb who isn't the enemy)
- Berserker - always joins a fight. Always. On random side if hates both fighting sides
- Humanitarian - always helps non-aggressive parties to defend (peasants, merchants), often attacks settlements with many slaves to liberate them
- Raider - loves pillaging and collecting slaves
- Energetic - rarely stays inside settlements, tends to go out immediately after getting beat up
- Lazy - likely to spend a lot of time at settlements, often ignoring potential threats
- Generous - tries to help everyone, likely to trade and give some nice deals and give gold to poorer settlements
- Pragmatist - fights when the odds are in their favor
- Robber - rides around collecting "protection" money from caravans
- Bounty Hunter - searches for bandits to hunt
- Defender - builds up an army and defends their home
- Leisurely - Enjoys making camp (ie waiting) on the world map.
- Depressed - ignores enemy unless they're really near (because what's the point?)
- Celibate - Tries to avoid people of opposite sex
- Lustful - Loves the opposite sex and will follow them around
- Belligerent - more likely to declare war on others and attack neutral parties
- Farstrider - patrol radius is greatly increased, so that such heroes stray much farther from home
- Homebound - patrol radius is greatly decreased, so that such heroes stay much closer to home
Traits are subject to changeTalent Traits said:- Prospector - You have a keen eye for earthly elements. Quarry productions increased by X%.
- Quartermaster - You are an expert on food rations. Food production increased by X%.
- Harmony with Nature - You are able to obtain lumber with less disruption to the forests. Wood production increased by X%.
- Speculator - You have a keen eye for the prices of goods. Gold earned increases by X%.
- Smithy - gives settlement access to better quality weapons/armor (could be divided into Weaponsmith and Armorsmith)
- Cultivator - gives settlement access to better food
- Horse breeder - gives settlement access to better horses (either quality or rarer ones appear more often)
- Evil - Increases corruption of settlements that you visit.
- Vigilante - Decreases corruption of settlements per visit.
- Inspirational - You inspire your people with hope for a better tomorrow. Increase prosperity.
- Watchful Eye - Revolts less likely in towns you've visited.
- Revolutionary - You incite feelings of dissatisfaction and anger. Revolts are more likely!
- Liberator - Gain exp for every prisoner hero liberates (via defeating enemy parties with prisoners or from winning sieges).
- Escape Artist - You have mastered all manners of ropes. Decreased chance of capture.
- Redeemer - Does not take prisoners. (They are automatically "released"). Receive renown/honor instead.
- No Quarter! - You kill all who oppose you. Take no prisoners, gain X exp per prisoner disposed.
- Midwife - Increases birth rate.
- Necessary Sacrifice/Driven - You sacrifice the health of your people for immediate betterment. Increases prosperity/production, decreases birth rate.
- Pacifist - Raiding takes X% longer on enemy settlements. But hero's settlement also takes longer to raid.
- Stingy- less likely to hire mercenaries, spends less money when upgrading settlements but takes longer for upgrades to complete
- Meticulous - takes longer to do things such as loot, collect taxes, but gains greater reward.
Scene Makers Bonus:
2 heroes total per settlement made for one wave
1 of which can be King/Queen level, which is Level 30 with 6000 gold worth of equipment
The other 1 is the level of your forum title, and can be given to other users and then uses their forum title level.
Must choose a starting faction for your hero, possible are
- Adventurer
- Bandit
- Mercenary (we don't have many of those for now)
- Peasant
This system for regulating submissions and restrictions on levels and such are designed to give everyone a chance but reward forum activity (especially Custom Settlements forum activity) and settlement scene contributions most. Currently there are 103 open spots for new heroes. Ultimately anyone who wants to make a hero should be able to, and lower levels can actually be an asset (lower level means easier to get in the players party, and more malleability to make them into whatever you like).
