Well, I've been messing around with some stuff, so I thought I'd make this thread to help you get the most out of your game.

Kingdom Management
Highlander's Kingdom Management has been added! The name of your Kingdom will be Kingdom of (your character's name) or (character name)'s Kingdom, so if you want to name your faction, a temporary name change is right up your alley.

Anyways, to enable this feature, just capture a castle or town whilst not pledged to a faction. After a little while, a Thane will be granted to you, and will spawn with around 70 "player troops". Player troops replace all recruits except Mercenaries, and since they can't upgrade past mid-tier soldiers, the going will be tough for the first while. However, you can build an Armory in a village to give those recruits more experience, and if your armory is built, you can expand it to a Dwarf Forge, which will allow your player units to upgrade to Heavy units, as well as giving the other troops more experience and better equipment.

Once your Dwarf Forge is built, you can then build a Warrior Hall. This allows your Heavy Infantry to upgrade to Berserkers, who are the most powerful units in the game.

You get one Thane for each castle you capture, up to a maximum of 20 Thanes. There is a way to get more, however. Now, when you capture a Lord, when you talk to him, you have the option to either execute him on the spot (never to return, and it even works with Kings) or you can ask the lord to join your faction. There is only a one in five chance he'll agree, but if he does he will be yours to command, though should he refuse the dialogue will come up to kill him.

Permanent Death
This feature can be turned on or off by going to the Camp menu.

Shield Bash
This feature can be disabled via the camp menu. To use it, simply hold down the right mouse button and left click when you have a shield equipped.

Formations
This feature can be enabled via the camp menu. When enabled, you can use formations in all standard battles. (Not in sieges/water battles etc.) K forms a Boar's Snout formation (wedge), P forms a Shield Wall, J makes a "Battle Formation" (ranks) and U disassembles them.

New Prisoner Dialogues
As mentioned above, you now have the option to kill Lords/Kings who are in your party, or ask them to join your faction.

Custom Battles
You can set up your own Custom Battles by choosing the Quick Battle option on the main screen, then selecting "play custom battle".

Sea Battles
When you enter a battle at sea you can choose either to close in and board the enemy or to fight on the shore. Please note that if the total number of troops is above 80 it's best to go to land due to limited space. Joining fights between lords that are at sea will not be able to go to shore, so watch out for large party sizes there too and if you must enter the battle adjust your battle sizer to 60 troops at the very most to ensure it doesn't completely mess up.

Rus Invasion
Historically, the Rus were vikings that settled in modern-day Russia. I thought it would be good to include the Rus as an invading faction, appearing in large numbers after 200 days. They should appear in the southeast part of the map at day 200.

FAQ:
Can you fix the lag? I don't think so. I've tried several times, but apparently to no avail. I personally don't get any lag, so I can't tell.
How can I remove the background? To remove the background, simply go into the mod's Textures folder and delete the file named "bg2".
How can I get the Health Bar/Old Archery reticule back? Easy. Just go into the mod's Textures folder and delete the file named user_interfaces (brings back health bar/shield icon) and/or ui_gadjets. (Brings back the old archery reticule.)
How can I hunt? All you have to do is get a ranged weapon (preferrably a bow and some arrows) and go around the map until you find either a "deer herd" or a "boar herd". "Attack" the party as you would any other party and you should be able to go hunting.
How can I change the Rus invasion date? To do this, you'll have to open up the mod's simple_triggers.txt. MAKE A BACKUP FIRST!

The red 200 is the day of the Rus invasion. Change this to whatever you like, 1 making them spawn almost immediately.
