Nononono!!! Don't do that. Customization works for all the troops. So if I want to gimp the Khergits, I'll recruit ONE khergit steppe lord, strip him naked, disband him, and then I can walk all over the Khergits because ALL their top-tier troops now spawn naked and weaponless.

To make this thing work for BoW, what you need to do is change the upgrade tree of the custom troops from swadian-based professional troops to the single-line Ranger generalists, then update the equipment selection screen to provide general equipment of increasing usefulness for each ranger troop. I found that worked better than specialised troops.

That's a really easy feature. I might make another modder's pack for that feature later so leave it for now.
 
Thats what I finally figured, if it is in the line then the troop upgrades would put those troops with all lords.

I gues a modder could make a second line of troops alongside the regular troops. Just like your custom troops, a copy of the regulars, but with a faction specific recruit. (custom Swadian recruit, custom Khergit tribesman, etc.

Work just came in the shop, another eight hours tonight, another sixteen tomorrow. So I'll probably be later than I thought.

you could release a pre-pre beta so we could have some fun while you work...  :cool:

Honestly since the disappearence of BOW i only played MB for 4 hours to see the new variants...

One of the bugs of 1.11 could be corected in BOW...
if you declare independence.. ( not happy with your lord), and conquer all of the faction... (i did it with khergits and swadians), the lords should ask you for alegiance.. (since i know all of them would much rather hiss you and keep some lands rather than simply not spawning...). I conquered all half of the lands for fun and now i runing all over the borders...
Or you could make them spawn in taverns as recruitabile...
BOW should add the recruit lords for your independent faction from the fallen lords, or give lands option for some of your hired mercs

38 Companions (Native + BoW) all level 1
Fisheye's autoloot
Fisheye's custom troops (I tried to make a bit of rangers out of them, but am only okay at troop working.)
Highlanders Kingdom management (this supplies you with about 20 lords of your own).

Thank you for all your effort Mfberg, it is really appreciated. Can I however implore you to also put in Eastern Invaders and Uniques?
 
please check the Native expansion mode, as some of the features could be implemented here (the source is availabile also so you don`t waiste time writing it again...).

I liked their troop tree much better than the original, and the kd management is quite good.
the lords are now quite good, and i almost got defeated on easy setting in a 1-1 combat in arena by a nord minor lord...

Replace the plate covered round shield in item_kinds1.txt with this in the BoW1011a003 module.

- I'm getting a frequent display lock (requiring Ctl, Alt, Del) with the error message "Unable to lock vertex buffer".  It happens at various moments, usually in some screen (party management, merchant, etc.).  I am running the latest drivers for my graphics card.

- Have the morale bonuses on Ale and Wine been removed on purpose?

- If we are going to include the heroes from the native game, could we ensure that the morale problems of those characters have been disabled? I do not want to hire a few of them and build them up only to have them up and leave half way through. Alternatively, don't have them in the game at all.
 
It should have the same screens as Native, I haven't added any graphics changes. I do run on dx9.

Items are straight from native, except I had to change that shield to get it to work, and I put the merchandise tag on some, if the morale bonus was removed in native then it's gone here.

The native heroes are in the game with the native problems, the BoW heroes have no problems. So you could get up to almost the troop slot limit with heroes without any problems (22 BoW, 8 native - check the native boards). Or you could just pick the BoW heroes and have lots of troop slots. I'll get around to disabling the personalities and personality conflicts I'll probably remember to do it sometime soon.

Got the starting options to drop the extra factions working. Worked on intro speeches a bit. Still have to drop all the rest of the arguments (I know there is a disable arguments switch in there, or I can just disable them by making everyone friends, but they'd still have their "aristocratic/egalitarian/whatever" personalities to argue with you on.

After that it will be uploaded for the masses.

Then I get to try for weapons/armor/horses, some faction specific items, unique item drops, and all that fun stuff. After that I'll try and get some other general items in like wounds, bleeding, injuries, more book objects like telescope, guides, trackers, etc. maybe as unique drops.

Feel free to use any of BoWX 1.3 custom scenes (arena,mines,bandit strongholds,Zendar, Dhorak Keep etc), also there's a banking script and wounding script in source files. Also a suggestion: make the wounds optional because that's what most of the people had gripe with. Also I believe I have two almost finished scenes, mountain bandit hideout and black khergit desert fortress. If you need em just pm me and I'll finish them in a day or two. Oh and bandit fort scenes are just commented out in the source but they are finished, just think they need defending and attacking spawn points added.
