New set of 61 additional female sounds available

This is a set of sound files that any modder may use in their mod. It contains a full set of female sounds for "woman_hit", "woman_die", "woman_victory", "woman_grunt" and "woman_grunt_long". "woman_yell" and "woman_warcry" will be added but may take a few more weeks (they are being recorded). I have taken the liberty of including the female sounds from Rejenorst's 'Official Vocals Sound Pack' so as to make the using of both resources easier. A module_sounds.py and a module_skins.py have been included that can be used to mine for the appropriate python code, to make inclusion easier.

This is not a mod in and of itself! This is a resource which can be used by modders in their own mods.

Heh, no doubt a result of where many of those sounds started out in life. Use the ones that work for you, leave the rest out. :smile:
 
To be really honest, the sounds I can play (for some reason I can't play the .oggs) sound as though they're from some Asian porn. And they sound rather strange, as if they're recorded in a room. I don't know if I like it, but thanks for the effort.
 
Haha, I agree some of those sounds...sound rather naughty.  If you're using wavepad, maybe you can try and run it through the noise reduction routine.

The ones you can play are no doubt the WAV files, which are from a game mod I did 12 years ago for the original Doom game. The technology of the time was such that they are 8bit files, hence the 'roominess'. The .ogg files sound 'much' cleaner. Likely you need a specialized  editor to listen to them such as Audacity or Wavepad. Those older WAV files are primarily placeholders as ultimately I would like to replace them with higher quality sounds. We'll see how long my motivation lasts. As I said earlier, use the ones you like, ignore the others.

There are a lot of resources on the web where one can download free, public domain sound effects. Most of them are not perfectly suited for our needs. That is however, where sound editing software comes in. For instance, take a sound clip of a woman faking an orgasm, building into a crescendo. Take a beginning low moan, something mid range and the biggest peak sound of the orgasm, now reverse them and space them with inhalation gasps. Add to the start of that a cut sound and blood/guts squirting sound effect and presto, death sound. It's not quite as easy as that, one still has to do a lot of picking and choosing and fiddling with the details, but there's the rub.

The downside to this technique is as Fei Dao noted, that the sounds can wind up sounding "strangely orgasmic". My observation from real life as a paramedic and a 49 year old with a fair amount of experience, is that pain sounds and orgasm sounds are virtually the same.

It's not a rule, just a tendancy. Again, use what you like, ignore the rest. There are a lot of files in there.

I think the baby coloured clothes and the possible inclusion of genitalia for the unclothed body really helped their image. :grin:

It still surprises me that armagan let them charge people for the mod. And, I guess, that people would have paid for it. It started out as a pretty decent modification when Ben was working on it.

Then you're not doing it right :wink:

The thing is, however, as your experience as a paramedic may or may not have taught you, is that the sounds of being in pain and receiving pain are very different animals. As is receiving pain when engaged in adrenalin-surgeing activities such as combat, and when not engaged in adrenalin-surgeing activities. I've done a fair amount of sparring, and both given and been given a fair amount of pain, to and by both sexes, and I can tell you there has never been anything remotely orgasmic-sounding about it.
 
Oye. I had a try. Those don't just sound like any old orgasm sounds. They sound like porn orgasm sounds. Yes, this is from my extensive experience with... err, nevermind, I don't know anything!  :oops:
