This particular video was captured from the demo we took to this year’s Gamescom, which put a heavy emphasis on large battles and sieges, dropping the player in the mid-game of Bannerlord’s campaign with a sizable warband of troops.

[/parsehtml]Read more at: http://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord/Blog/126

Τotal war is trash, please keep that out of MnB. I want MnB for the brutal combat and realistic commands, no fly-over view like RTS making everything easy.

I totally agree with you, but is a bad thing having it just for deployment? I mean, you should have time to deploy your army as you want before a battle, maybe you can have like a preset made in campaign map for every battle but I think that having just it for deployment is a very good idea. And I repeat, just for deployment, I don't want neither fly-over view like in Viking Conquest or things like that.

Pre-deployment is different, but I have seen absurd suggetions like fly over cam during battle, mid-pause while fighting and other things that would ruin MnB. I like the deployment phase of bannerlord and the fly over camera as long as it stays in pre deployment.

I agree with this. M&B was always about leading the battle from the first or third person view.

I don't really understand this RTS birds eye view command suggestion, it dosen't fit M&B. That being said, I think that battle scenes, especially since they are no longer random should be larger allowing for more flexibility to tactical choices.

So half of the community wants Bannerlord to be Total War, while the other half want it to be Warband with better graphics

having some Properties of total war will be good; like exact border of each faction; powerfull diplomacy like three kingdom, its diplomacy is really enjoiable. there is so many fethurs that is common between total war and mount and blade that can be inspiring for taleworld

I really loved this video although I do have a question regarding the siege. How did the infantry know when to charge the castle gates with the ram? I didnt see any command prompts on screen. Did I miss something?

Same here, I fear Bannerlord could become a Total War game.
Would that be such a bad thing?
Yes, cause it could potentially suck at being both Mount&Blade and Total War game.

Though, to be honest, I already have my doubts about how good M&B game will Bannerlord be.
Well that's fair. They should probably stick with what they know. Have no doubts though, mods will fix most of the flaws that crop up.

That's fair as well. Although I don't think Total War as a whole is trash. Only the recent titles have been trash imo.

Maybe this deserves its own topic. A big deal in my opinion.

Just a heads up: I made that topic regarding Infantry vs cav.:

The campaign map looks spectacular, I won't tire of repeating it.
The only "bad" thing (small nitpickery) that stands out is the low resolution of the terrain (we need +tesellation+high resolution). Then I noticed that you have added the swaying of the trees and a slight movement of the water (I love it).
...

@petmonster_tw I wish you'd comment more often. Very much appreciated.
I agree with Terco_Viejo.

The map is really beautiful, well done developers.
A bit about water:
1. Would you make a surf like in Civilization 6 - it is incredibly beautiful, especially when the surf breaks on coastal cliffs, or rolls out onto a sandy beach.
2. The water in the river, it is the same in your sea - the same waves. But in fact, the water in the river flows in one direction, and the river waves should be completely different.
3. ... I will not say anything about trees. I hope you are working on them too.
4. It would be worth adding to the game itself, and to the global map - dry, old trees. It is very beautiful and creates a certain mood.

Unless they are given contradictory orders by the player, the AI operates siege machinery automatically- whatever machines were chosen at the start of the assault phase are used straight away. The player doesn't need to give any commands for the attack to be carried out. This isn't just a guess, the devs have told us this.

A request for developers:

Just as horse archers are a different kind of troop than cavalry. Would it be possible that pikemen were a type of troop apart from the infantry?
Maybe, the pikemen aren't gonna have much important in bannerlord, but this could be help for future mods about Alexander the great, Diadochi wars or spanish tercios.

Unrelated, you profile pic obviously screams you are Khergit, why did you chose neutral ? Are you a heretic

As an aside, for those with multiple monitors, would it be possible to have the log window be moveable outside the primary screen if desired (at least for battles) ? That would help the immersion aspect a lot (and the log us ugly on screen, no matter the font size).

Can't wait to get my hands on a playable sandbox

1) I didn't like the fact that the player could ride right through enemy territory and attack the enemy capital. It was one of the things that annoyed me about WB. Somebody on the forums suggested a kind of "supply lines" mechanic where large armies need to be close to a friendly settlement to function. It would allow fighting to be done mainly at the borders of the two opposing factions. I think TW should look into something like that.
This is my topic related to the support line and with suggestions on how to implement it in the game.
If you are interested in this topic, I would be happy if you read it or maybe you contributed suggesting changes.
And if you consider it a valid topic, support it in some way, perhaps suggesting it to those interested in the concept of "support line".

Wow that wall of text is pretty daunting. Do you have a short version? Also I'm going to create my own suggestion thread that makes a "supply line" simulation much simpler.
And done.
