We decided to answer a few more than we originally anticipated, and so, we thought it would be best to save the campaign gameplay video until next week's blog instead (our apologies if that is what you are here for!). We hope that these direct and honest answers will give you an insight into what is happening with the beta and a greater understanding of what to expect from early access. So, without further ado, let's get to it, shall we?

[/parsehtml]Read more at: http://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord/Blog/125

I’m kind of sad to hear we won’t be getting a banner editor. It seemed like the next logical step after warband, where we could only choose from pre-made banners. Now the choice sounds more limited.

I mean, they kinda have to give us one....how shall I take a banner from a scheme, if I start my own Kingdom without aligning myself to others prior to that.

I demand a key on behalf of all the inverse players that haven't already gotten into the beta; we are a minority in this game and we need our perspective to be told.

Inverse isn't as good in Bannerlord as Warband, there are actually some difficulties with it and the stance system

Apparently the banner editor is there, but it seems that we select from pre-made charges (sigils) and maybe we choose the type of field (solid, stripe, chevron, etc.). However it doesn't look like we can create/import our own sigils, nor can we select colors for our clan. Not that in-depth of a banner editor, especially considering that the name of this game is... well... Bannerlord. But hey, it's better than nothing.

And how much do you trust fietta's opinion?

Well, he has created many constructive feedback threads/posts and his opinions have positively influenced development so far (alongside many other competitive players’ opinions), so I’d say I trust his drive to make the game better well enough.

I mean good infos but...

would love to see you ending the debate over ambush battles. Even a topic was opened about it.
Should we think there was no question because the answer would be negative ? (Though the question about banner creator was involved(then again it is relatively an insignificant topic))

I suppose sooner or later I'm going to get banned for spam, but since nobody is responding:

What regions will you be providing servers for in the Beta, and specifically: will my region (Australia) have servers (both matchmaking and casual) servers? Will Australians even be involved in the beta at all?

I'm not going to stop asking.

If you get banned i would be upset. Freaking China gets servers but one or two servers in australia is too much asked

Seconding the disappointment on the banner editor and faction colors. It does not feel immersive or accurate to the early medieval setting to have national colors used by all clans in a faction. It also reduces the visual diversity and uniqueness of each lord, and reduces the amount of creative options available for the player.

Mount and Blade is actually pretty popular in China, I wouldn't be surprised if its multiplayer scene was the largest behind EU and NA. Hopefully Taleworlds can put up at least a few servers in the less populated regions, at least until we can set up dedicated servers.

I can't answer for the competitive scene in China, but at peak times for public servers: even Australia (with New Zealand, which combined has a total population of ~30,000,000) often has more people playing than China (which has 1,400,000,000 people + Other East Asian countries which don't have their own servers).

Of course I'm not saying that China shouldn't have servers or anything, but AU/NZ has ~1/50th(Yes, barely 2%) of the population(not including everywhere else nearby China too), and in total net terms(not even in per-capita) seems to be just as popular (or almost, anyway). We still pull hundreds of people for events. I don't have the exact numbers of any other regions, but Australia isn't so small as many probably think. It is smaller, but not so much as to be ignored.

Just as a follow up on the hair physics question:

If you don't have time to implement it by the time of release, will it be possible or would you be willing to do so in a patch after release?

Nice blog and thanks for the answers Callum.
I am ok standardized clan banners but standardized banner editor mod probably will be one of the first mod we will get as I saw reactions on this thread.
Not much people interested with it but I am also huge fan of custom battles, I wonder if we will have custom battle option in EA.

I understand the disappointment, but the fact that all the clans within faction have same flag with different icon is hardly a new thing.

I just hope that we'll still see a diversity of banners on the battlefield, the early showcases of those showed stripes, divided fields and all the fancy stuff, if it's just that plain 'flag' ('clan icon' is more fitting description, really) that would be really disappointing.

Completely agree. I know a ton of Australians who would agree, and would really like some info on this, so if Callum could get back to us it would be massively appreciated. So far I haven't seen any indication that we will be getting Australian based servers for the Beta or upon release.
