Hello,
I've been struggling for two months with my Realtek driver, and now I'm about to capitulate. The problem seems very simple, yet either Realtek or Windows make it look complicated.
Essentially, I want the driver to recognize my headphones as a separate device, but Realtek just won't give up on merging all my jacks in Speakers.
As you can see in this picture, my two audio inputs are all merged in one single device, but I want them separated.
The most frustrating thing is that when I do a clean install of my Realtek drivers, it actually does separate them, but just after one minute, it merges everything automatically. I cannot for the life of me understand why would it do that.
I tried the following solutions:
1. Uninstall every audio driver via Device Manager;
2. Install different drivers provided by Realtek or my laptop manufacturer. All attempts have been clean installations;
3. Use Microsoft's HD audio driver (it's terrible);
4. Manually select drivers from the Device Manager;
5. Disable speakers before the system reacts (how naive, but I tried);
6. Check the Realtek control panel (does not provide an option for multi-stream, the thing barely has any options to choose from).
If anyone has any idea on how to stop my system from merging the devices automatically, please share your holy knowledge. I'd be grateful.
I have solved the issue. Check this post: https://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?topic=385475.msg9197613#msg9197613
