Hey chaps, I'm trying to remember when I first got this game and the release timeline doesn't really stack up with my memory. Does anyone remember when the first Alpha or Beta release was?
I seem to recall getting a friends mum to buy it with a credit card as I didn't have one at the time and I was super excited.
There was only one town that you could visit that wasn't a text box - Zendar, and the only real quest I remember was an open-ended bounty on 'River Pirates' (basically the bare-chested, wooly-hatted rabble that are now called looters). There was one named companion called something like Mardus, and there was an arena where I got beaten up by this guy called Kradus. A bit later they added salt mines where one could sell slaves and buy salt to sell in town.
Any of the old guard remember when this was? I was sure I played it before 2004, as I would have had a credit card from about 2002. I have since bought it about 3-5 times, sometimes for friends, and also upgrading to Warband at some point.
It was certainly the first early-access game I ever bought, I just am trying to work out how early it was.
