Getting it right is key to the experience: it has to be almost invisible, so players (sort of) forget that they are playing against a machine. It has to be clever and fast enough to be a worthy opponent, but not too much – humans are fallible, after all; and ultimately the player, as the hero of the story, is supposed to win. It has to make use of the game mechanics at hand, not just to be fun and varied but to show the player what can be done. This rings especially true in a game such as Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord, where skill-based combat and epic large-scale battles are at the core of the experience.

[/parsehtml]Read more at: http://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord/Blog/83

Guys I think we are in the clear, Taleworlds isn't releasing the game this year. I can not tell you how happy I am they are taking another year of development. It just feels like they are rushing, they need to slow it down and take their time.
While I appreciate quality sarcasm, you may want to slow your roll. We'd all love if the game came out yesterday, but we're stuck waiting.

What sarcasm?

What I really like about pretty much all the blogs is the little paragraph about the modding possibilities. Warband is still a game that I play regularly due to the awesome mods.
Especially with this blogpost I'm really glad they implemented the AI in the way as they are describing it here, seems like there will be a great AI mod incoming once the game hits the market.

When it says the combat AI doesn't 'cheat', does that apply to Line of Sight?

The player obviously will be restricted to what they can actually see of the battlefield from their own character's position. Does the AI automatically know where everyone and everything in the battle scene is at all times?
It uses every piece of information that a player would have access to (although, perhaps slightly more detailed and accurate than a player’s guesstimates) to make its decisions.

So could i hide cavalry behind a hill? Would the Combat AI know that there is cavalry hidden on the battlefield?

Unlikely, probably. Checking the site of view of every soldier before AI decisions is very unlikely. As a soldier in your leftmost flank, will probably not let you know that he see someone you can not.

I have passed on all of the feedback regarding the bows to the art team and will update you all when I know more!

I'm sorry for the necro and for being picky...I was just refreshing information about the ia (subject I'm seriously "worried about") and it seems that the "little problem" of the bow has not been solved.
