§ 1 RULES

§ 1.1 GENERAL

Players are expected to be respectful of their fellow players and staff, both on the forums and in official matches.
§ 1.2 ROSTER

Team rosters should consist of at-least 10 players.

Should a player not be on a roster and play for a team, then the player will be treated as a member of said team and will be added to their roster.

A player may only play for a team which represents the Nation they are from.

In order for a team to register, they must have a captain who is capable of handling all issues pertaining to the tournament for their team. Teams are also permitted, and are encouraged, to list a co-captain to help manage the team.

Team banners must abide by the TaleWorlds forum rules.
§ 1.3 MATCHES

You will have until Tuesday, 11:59PM (BST) to finish your match for the week.

By entering your team into the tournament, you understand the obligation of playing at least six weeks of matches as a team; joining the tournament and leaving during the ladder stage is harmful to the proceedings of the tournament.

Only team members, referees, administrators and streamers are permitted to be on the server during an NC match.

Any discriminate or malicious language used during an official match will result in a punishment for the offending party or team.

All matches must be played on dedicated Nation's Cup servers. Teams are not allowed to play an official tournament match on another server, unless a tournament administrator agreed to allow them to beforehand.

Both teams have to agree to play on a particular server. If teams cannot agree on a particular server, they must ask a referee or tournament administrator for a decision.
§ 2 FORMAT

§ 2.1 GENERAL

Khergit Khanate is not a usable faction.

Each match will consist of two maps, each map consisting of two first-to-three sets. Rounds will count both towards the match win and towards the round differential, which acts as a tiebreaker in the standings.

The higher seeded team will start the match as the top spawn in the first set. On the second map they will start as the bottom spawn.

Each team is required to play exactly 8 players; should a team be unable to do so, the other team can play the match out or request a default.

If a team forfeits mid-match, all remaining rounds shall be scored for the opposing team.

Upon the change of the map, the first round will not be live.

Teams are granted 5 minutes of preparation between each set, and 10 minutes between each map. After this period ends, either team may force a "re", meaning the match will be considered live upon reset even if one side is not ready to play.

Substitutions are only allowed between sets, meaning you cannot substitute players after each round and must wait until the end of a set to do so.
§ 2.2 LADDER STAGE

The NC will be played in a ladder system, lasting six weeks.

Teams are sorted in the ladder firstly by total points, secondly by the Buchholz score of their opponents, then by round difference, rounds won, and rounds lost, in that order.

Teams are awarded 0 points for a loss, 1 point for a draw and 3 points for a win.

Teams are assigned levels according to how many matches they have won.
 • Level 0: 0 Wins
 • Level 1: 1 Win
 • Level 2: 2 Wins
 • Level 3: 3 Wins
 • Level 4: 4 Wins
 • Level 5: 5 Wins
 • Level 6: 6 Wins

Maps and their corresponding factions will be pre-determined by the administrative team.

The weekly match-ups are made by the teams themselves during "pick nights". These pick nights will begin every Tuesday at 18:30 BST. Each team is allotted a time slot of two minutes to pick their opponents.

Picking order is prioritised as follows:
 • Teams with zero points that were in the NC the previous week.
 • Teams yet to pick with the lowest number of points
 • Should teams have an equal number of points, then the team with the highest Bucholz score is given priority, following this round difference is used, then rounds won, and rounds lost in that order to determine the priority between teams with equal Bucholz score.
 • Week one match-ups will be selected randomly.

Teams may not pick a team they played against in the previous 2 weeks or a team more than one level above them, unless there is no other alternative.

If a team misses their pick or makes an in-valid pick, their pick is randomised from any of the next 3 teams in the picking order that lost their latest match. Failing that, the pick is taken from the next team in the picking order that lost their last match. Failing that, the pick is randomised from any of the next 3 teams in the picking order.

If a team only has two teams to choose from and one of the teams sat out the previous week, they must pick that team.

If the league has an odd number of teams, the team that has first pick will be awarded a default win.

If two teams fail to play their match within the deadline, for the purposes of the next pick night they will be treated as if they had won their match and lost all rounds.
§ 2.3 ELIMINATION STAGE

The final seeding from the ladder stage will determine the bracket for the elimination stage.

The top four (subject to change depending on number of signups) teams will advance into the knockout stage.

This elimination stage will follow a single elimination format.

There will be a third and fourth place match as well as a Grand Final.

For each knockout match maps will be picked by the teams themselves during a pick night held on Tuesday. Factions will be determined in advance by the tournament administration using a random number generator.

If the score is tied at the end of a match, a third map will be randomised from the unpicked or unbanned maps, as will factions.

Exploiting glitches on maps. Glitches are defined as areas in match which, if exploited, gives one team an advantage over the other that was not intended by the map maker.

Joining of another teams voice communication to gather information.

When requested by the match referee (at the beginning of the round) players should take a screenshot of their game view while holding their primary weapon. Players should ensure the screenshot contains the referee message, the scoreboard and buildings/other textures/players and post it on the forum within 30 minutes of the match ending. Failing to comply with any part of this rule will result in a 1 match ban for that player.

Spawning in a ninth player for the purpose of dropping gear for his team.

Impersonation of staff members.

Failure to use MOSS or record gameplay when required by the administration.

The admin team is not all-knowing and as such if an instance comes up that does not necessarily fit any of the points shown above, they reserve the right to take any actions which they deem appropriate.
§ 4.2 DISPUTES

If a dispute arises by either participating teams during any match, the tournament administrators will review it privately with the team captains. If no solution comes of this, the administrators will discuss the situation amongst themselves, and decide whether the match must be repeated. If no administrators are present both teams must finish the match and contact an administrator afterwards.
§ 4.3 PUNISHMENTS

Any violation that occurs during a live round of the tournament and is determined to have an effect on the outcome of that round will result in the immediate or retroactive loss of that round for the offending party.

The administration reserves the right to require certain players to use MOSS or record their gameplay.

Penalties will follow a severity system, and for every repeat offense, the severity will increase. The levels of severity are the following:
 • Low severity; A warning or suspension lasting one match.
 • Moderate severity; A suspension lasting three matches.
 • High severity; A suspension for the whole NC season.

The severity of the violation is determined by the administration, and will be determined for every individual case, though precedent set by previous infractions will be taken into account.
§ 5 Alliances

§ 5.1 ELIGIBILITY

In order to qualify for an Alliance, the Nations involved must be in the following situation:
 • One or both of the Nations must be unable to play without the other.
 • In the instance that one Nation is able to easily field a roster by themselves, they shall automatically be ineligible for an Alliance.

Alliances should be a last resort for any Nation. Requests made in bad faith, such as when a Nation knows they have enough players without one, may result in penalties for those involved.

Alliances should only be requested with a Nation which shares linguistic, historical, regional or other valid ties. An Alliance should not be requested with a Nation that is entirely unrelated.
§ 5.2 REQUESTS

Alliance requests shall only be considered valid if they are made on the appropriate thread, found here.
