As it appears that little has been offered regarding a possible response to the Spanish ‘revolution’, Denmark has a few proposals. Currently, we offer three possible
active approaches that could be conducted:
- The treating of commerce raiding by ships of Communists as piracy and a threat to all participant nations.
- The establishment of control over the Strait of Gibraltar to secure a route for the transport of the counter-revolutionary Army of Africa over to the mainland.
- The holding of talks to gain support from – and maybe the provision of equipment to – the Catalan and Basque nationalists or the conservative smallholders who dominate most of northern Spain. Navarre especially is a stronghold of traditionalism akin to the Vendée of France.
