Team Showcases (5/5)

BladeCastTV is proud to present the BladeCast Masters, our debut into tournament hosting for Mount & Blade: Warband! This may be BladeCastTV's first tournament as a team, but many of our staff members are experienced tourney admins with multiple tournaments under their belts. With our combined knowledge and expertise, and the support of our gracious sponsors, our mission is to provide the best tournament experience to you, the Mount & Blade: Warband community. Without you, this event wouldn't be possible! We want to take a moment to shine the spotlight on the teams that will be fighting it out for their chance at glory.

The tournament will be divided in two phases, starting with the qualifiers. Four top teams will fight their way to the second and more prestigious stage, the Main Event, where they will then face off against the four invited elite teams. These four teams, Frontline Tactics, KROWA, Unity and Aequalitas have already received detailed previews which you can check here. In this article, we'll be focusing on the twenty teams which have already started battling head to head in the qualifiers. Each article will focus on one team from each group, presenting them in detail and covering their current progress within the tournament.

Team Summary

Another team which made their first appearance during the BladeCast Masters was The Flaming Fist, a gathering of experienced and rather skilled native veterans who decided to unite under the same banner for the tournament. Lead by Bertalicious, the team aimed to create a structure based on a relaxed and chilled atmosphere, and focusing on staying in the tournament for as long as possible while also enjoying the game together.
Their infantry core was made of Tom_And_Jerry, Ganni, Walja, and Halomaster. While they could count on a solid pair of rangers in the form of Pepper and Berta. Their cavalry department was completed by some fine cavalries such as Slow, Conan, Bash, and Varagian who have proven to be very efficient on numerous occasions, and all together The Flaming Fist had assembled a rather promising team.
Placed amongst arguably the hardest group of the qualifier, the Flaming Fist played their cards right, and after Polish Eagles were upset by Fallen Pride, the Flaming Fist stunned them both in two rather one-sided matches. With the default win they had against Unity in the early days of the competition, The Flaming Fist had a real shot at making it to the main stage, having only the squad of Inversed Brains to defeat. That match certainly came down to the wire but it was Inversed Brains which came on top in a nail-biting series ending up on a 9-7 scoreline. The Flaming Fist will probably have some regrets, as their qualification for the main stage came very close. Nevertheless the tournament was a good opportunity for some players who were not that familiar with each other to prove they could offer a high level of gameplay to any team they faced. It is yet to be seen if they will play for the next tournament together but would they decide to, that team could very well become a force to be reckoned with in a rather near future.

Team Summary

The second team from Fallen Pride lead by Flavius is not so young in comparison to their eldest. While Fallen Pride have proven they could compete with bigger teams than themselves, and even beat them, their academy team is still making their first steps into the competitive scene of native, and have joined the BladeCast Masters to gain experience. They mostly come from mercenaries, but never really played together, and therefore it was hard to see them having a spectacular run in the qualifiers. With that being said, the tournament was a good opportunity for them to get a hold of the basics and learn from playing more experienced teams and players.
So far, they have only played one match, which was a rather expected one-sided loss against Knights of Malta but tonight they have a real opportunity against The Senate. It is still unsure when they will find the time to play Highest Virtue and Blackkingdoms as the qualifiers stage ends tonight.
Their roster goes as follow. Bajar, Musty, Moustache, Hepraii, and Daisuki take the main spots as infantries. Flavius and Mihaex are the two rangers of the teams while Evil_Sod, Tamas, and Feodras complete the lineup as cavalries.

Team Summary

Highest Virtue is not the only team composed out of mostly Turkish and Russian players within this tournament, but what sets them apart is the quality of their players and the chances they have to qualify for the main event. Lead by Maximus and Demon, the team regroups several former Heroes and Inquisition players who have decided to play together under the HV tag, as well as some other experienced players from the scene and other promising new additions. Mikalir, Paralyzer and BlackDead are the three main cavalries whereas Pon, zAnger, Demon and Jafo play infantry. Kazupa and Anubis complete the line-up as main rangers, with Max, their captain and normally main ranger playing as an all-rounder to favour his leadership skills.
The team aims at competing with the best, and so far they have proven they have what it takes as they quickly dealt with the teams they have faced, losing only two rounds in the process. Their match against Fallen Pride 2 remains a question mark as it has failed to be scheduled yet, but would they happen to play it, it shouldn’t be too much of a struggle for them. Their biggest threat so far remains the Kights of Malta who, in a similar fashion as Highest Virtue, came on top of all their encounters with ease. This match certainly appears as the big clash in Blue Division, Group I, and it still remains unclear who the main favourite in this one will be, as both teams have equal results against the teams they both faced.
Exiting the competition at this stage would be probably a disappointing prospect for both teams, so it is expected to be a rather close encounter tonight, which you will be able to follow on the TheCardboardBox’s twitch channel.

Team Summary

Lead by Scepion, Back 2 Main Menu comes from Turkey, and have been playing together in some national tournaments in the past, such as the Warband Yaz Ligi where they finished at a respectable fourth position. Their players are still relatively new to the international scene, and without much surprise their results within the tournament sort of reflected that lack of experience, as they struggled to put up real opposition against most of their opponents.
The BladeCast Masters was still an occasion, same as with many other teams, to gain experience and improve as a group for Back 2 Main Menu, and we have to expect that they will come more prepared for potential future international tournaments.
