30 mins is a good time but it being the early game is a bit unfortunate.
I mean like you said we wont see sieges, we wont see huge battles but we will mostly see fights against bandits.

We also wont see cool and expensive armors, high tier units.

At least you could put a preset siege battle TW.

Who says you can't join in huge battles? Does it really matter if you win or lose? You could just randomly challenge lords if you feel like it. Or if you want to play smart, join random battles in progress.

Thank you for the input, Armagan.  I'm glad to know what we will be seeing at GC.

Early access is a good route to take for this game.  A dedicated company, loyal fanbase, and modern patching techniques come together for a good combination.  I was hoping you would take this route.

The suggestion to release this version as a demo sounds interesting, but that doesn't fit any existing model and it would take a lot of time and effort to hammer out the details and make this work. I would rather put that effort into development and do a proper early access version.

Nice to see you around and laying some things down, Armagan. However I do hope you realize that this *bolded* statement above might have opened a lid to a box you might not be able to so easily shut. If you didn't really want to imply an "early access" release then I think Callum should be sent in here pdq before all heck breaks loose.

I was not expecting an early access to happen to be honest. For me it is good and bad depending on the reason you'll do that.

Will you do that because government pushes you to? It is not a secret Turkish government in need of foreign currency. I hope that is not the case.
Or will you do that because you are indeed finished codding your mechanics and you need beta testers to hunt bugs and help balancing? And gain some money while doing so(totally fine with that).

I always hoped for a full release but I am ok with an unbalanced early access game with finished mechanics.

and you still shouldnt expect one, as his post was talking about what he rather do, not what he is actually going to do. Big difference

in short: EA is a maybe (before today it was a very unlikely maybe)

I believe he knows what fans will take out from his words. He is the head of the company. While I know what he means, I believe he knows he shouldn't use such dangerous words unless it is something serious.

I hope so. If this goes the early access route I expect a large discount for early adoption, not in game rewards.

I am fully okay with an Early Access...though I think all of us were just hunkered down for the long haul until actual release.

That would in theory move the timetable up for us to be able to play the game!

Many thanks to everyone for their comments. The team here is working really hard to get the demo ready for Gamescom and we really appreciate your support.

Just to clarify a few things, the build we'll have in the booth will be different from the current development build in that, some features and pieces of content have been disabled. There are mainly two reasons for this. First, we want to focus our efforts on polishing the features that will be of most use in the demo. Disabling the rest allows us better manage our resources and time. Second, we do not want to reveal all the features and content in a single demo. We'd rather leave a good portion of the game as a surprise.

Here's a list of some of the things that are missing/disabled:
Sieges
Crafting
Character generation
Kingdom and town management
About 2/3 of town scenes. We selected 2 town scenes per culture and all towns will be showing those.
Most companions are disabled. There will be around 10 that are available.
About 2/3 of planned perks are not yet implemented.

But that would take even more time wouldnt it? I agree that you shouldnt spend your resources on a small demo but us getting an early access version could probably take months since we dont know the development time etc I guess that we could get our hands on a demo like that after 2019 so why dont you release a downloadable file of the map,as I suggested earlier?

Many thanks for your information about GC btw .

I hope they will abstain from going EA. A more conservative approach, like a closed beta for the purpose of bug hunting, balancing the game or weeding out details that might prove annoying during gameplay would be wiser alternative.

I know you're worried about a intemperate reaction to a buggy early access release but if they commit to delivering modding tools very quickly I don't see this game being hampered.

I'd like it if they'd take note of how Larian did early access for Divinity and allow for uploads to data every time the user encounters a bug or crash.

Something tells me the early access version of this game won't be the bugfest/design travesty that was Kingdom Come Deliverance on release!

Thanks for this clarity! As exciting as the blog was, this post was more informative for me.  At first glance, the blog made it seem that the game was almost feature complete and ready for short-term public scrutiny of all aspects.  What I gathered from this was that a release was on the horizon, understandibly I was back on the hype train to possible destination dissapointment.

Being clear with us about what is being left out of the demo and why is greatly appreciated and one step closer towards managing expectations instead of stringing us along.  I'll expect a release later rather than sooner after seeing the  inevitably awesome Gamescom footage.  (I wish this was the case in 2016 haha)

Taleworlds will do a game to rule all games(I love this LOTR reference) better than Kingdom Come Deliverance all what CA release
