In this week’s blog, we thought it would be nice to put a face to a name, so to speak, by sharing each of the factions’ banners with you. After all, this is Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord…

[/parsehtml]Read more at: http://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord/Blog/58

How about showing us new AI Features and how the Nations are going to change strategy based on enemy movements and our intelligence from our scouts you could add these freatures they're pretty simple to add i think oh and btw i would like to read a blog about morale and i would love to see some changes, what i mean by that is,in WB your troops loose morale fast if you have a big force and you are obligated to find some people to fight and this makes the game boring i know you wanted to make it more realistic so that if your troops dont fight for a long time they will loose morale but what if they wanted to rest from a big campaign as well? you should balance these things out i dont want to change bandits for an hour just to raise my men morale

And by the way TW you could give us a downloadable file of Bannerlord's map something like a screenshot but be able to scroll through the map and check the details of the map something like a downlodable file or a live thingy like VR or idk.. we could give you feedback about the map and mybe you could improve it or just take our compliments cause im pretty sure the new map is going to be gorgeous.Thats all thanks for reading. (if you actually read all that)

Speaking of cinematic trailers..
Shall we get a cool cinematic trailer along with some in-game footage for the release announcement trailer? You know, kinda like total war ones.

This cinematic is cool af for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDVybaCiVWc
Maybe something like that could be done for each big faction. Threatening each other. Or maybe they are all in a room behind a big round table. With map on the table and they are all doing moves. kinda like the age of empires 2 trailer. that way you can combine game play with cinematic .

If kings are in a room, we have to see their faces. What kind of models should they use? The in game models with animated mimics, and movement, or some 2D animations?
So , let me elaborate .
All the talking and making the moves on the big map part are gonna be cinematic. However , when they make a move on the map , let's say Khan moves his cavalry unit figurine next to a castle . Then we get into the game play showing siege. Then , let's say that another lord plays his men figurine next to other lords men figurine. Then we get a game play video showing battles. Perhaps, in the end we get to see someone new approaching the table who we can not identify(that is us , maybe in the shadows or something idk). And all the lords perhaps look at the new person. Then the cinematic ends there.
Something like this.

These Empire banners.

Why are the individual icons so small? The laurel, the crown and the sword. IMO they should be bigger, so that they kind of frame the eagle. The laurel would wreathe the eagle. The crown would be overlapping with the eagle too. And the sword would run through the eagle vertically. Much more distinctive that way?

To garner sufficient support in the civil war each leader will be claiming they are acting in the Empire’s best interest, not their own. In such circumstances, it would be naive to let ones personal device overshadow the empire’s eagle.

That sounds good... i might animate it somewhere in the future. In 2D of course. :shifty: Just a short and simple one.

Meh. I prefer distinctive design over things like that

When I posted my objection to cinematic trailers, I wasn't having a dig at you or your post, or even your idea. By using Total War as an example, you just reminded me of a pet-peeve I have with those games, and I went off on a bit of a rant. Sorry about that!

Taleworlds will undoubtedly make some kind of trailer for Bannerlord, because it's kind of expected now for showcasing any game on Steam. What I think Creative Assembly have tended towards, which I don't like, is gearing their entire game design towards making these impressive-looking cinematic showcases, instead of making actual meaningful progress in the gameplay - but that's a different issue, really.

I think I know why the Vlandian banner is like the Lannister one. If you have watched that episode where Jaime leads his men against the Dothraki, and Dany along with her 3 dragons, the Lannisters had rain drop shaped kite shields...so maybe because of that, the Vlandians are somewhat similar?(While the Battanians are somehow like the Starks and the separate Empires are like the disputing Targaryens, one of them even led by a Queen who lost her husband like how the Khaleesi, Daenerys lost Khal Drogo)(So basically I am referring to the Southern Empire and relating them to the Valaryians. Only difference is no dragons. Perhaps in a very well done GoT mod haha! With scenes, added cut scenes etc.) I am excited to help the Starks and Targaryens by leading my own House, Stormhorse and with my sub house ally, Drakonworth.

Or maybe its because the red background with a yellow lion is one of the most common europeon helradic symbols in many coat of arms during the medieval period. Game of Thrones didn't invent the symbol.

Tha lannisters are in the middle western part of westeros, just like the vlandians. They are representing, or they draw inspiration from the western european kingdoms from the 11th century, such as France, Normandy, England, maybe the small spanish kingdoms.

They don't inspire each other, they rather just come from the same source. Thus it is no suprise if they have similarities in they weapons, shields, fighting style, culture, or even in they flags.

Even the hungarian kings used lions on their crests, or flags from time to time, depending on the ruler. But that is in middle europe.

Well of course it is commonly used, Scotland had similar colors except it was a red lion and a yellow backround. I just found that to be funny, how people suddenly related the banner to the Lannisters. I never said they inspired each other. The Vlandians do draw inspiration especially from the Normans and maybe middle Europe. The devs did mention this for the castles in Vlandia. To reply to you Rainbow Dash, GoT did draw inspiration from places like England. The Lannister banner was then inspired from middle western Europe, and from countries like Norway. I never said the Lannisters invented that coat of arms, I said many times a lot of GoT fans relate it to the Lannisters. This does not mean they think the Lannisters invented it. Most people I came across believe the Starks to be like the far northern Englishmen from York and Lannisters are from Southern England(Lancasters), and they tell me the war between those two Houses reminds them of the War of the Roses. Also the actual Norman banner was not a lion, it was three leopards. William the Conqueror used that coat of arms. I think a banner that is similar with the golden lion with a red backround, is the medieval Norwegian banner. I've noticed that alot of the European cultures are similar and different. I know this from history lessons in university and from playing historical games.

What about this one as a plausible 11th century hand made imperial standard ?

Did you run out of ink/thread for the talons/scroll?

No But I run out of time

You mayn't think but it took me about 2 hours until that stage. Mainly because of me being inexperienced and because of the technique used.

It has been done with the essential windows painting and it is only the second attempt (after that of the day before, see a couple of pages back).

It is mainly drawn and painted by minimal lines (very unstable that tool) to simulate embroidering by hand.

I also want to make an other short comic for the next blog, and I will only have a few hours before that comes out.
