Today we want to introduce you to a very important role in every development team. Every time a game designer thinks of a cool feature or an animator creates a beautiful movement, there’s someone who has to find a way to make it happen and implement everything in the actual game. You are right, we are talking about the programmers, those code magicians that turn designers’ wishes into reality – and then fix all the issues that usually follow every change: a video game is a very complex system, and changing even the smallest thing can create unexpected problems!

[/parsehtml]Read more at: http://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord/Blog/40

In the chain attack gif, the two handed axe is situated on the back next to the scabbard of the sword he is using! That means all equipped weapons are visible on the body?

Looks good doesn't it?

Nice blog. I like the photos at the end; it seems Cem's hair is retreating in fear of Bannerlord:

"Oh, and one strange fact is that the office has felt chillier each year. Most of the others don’t feel the difference, but I do, I really do!”

You might want to try a comb over Cem, from back to front! You have plenty spare at the rear

Dear comrades, game developers! You did a lot of good! There are many reasons to praise you! And many praise you!
Today I will do without any special comments
But I have a wish - though I doubt that you will do it (now some will grumble at me), but I will say it. Two wishes.
First - can you get rid of Hollywood? Can you remove the swords (axes) from behind your back? I do not know about spears, and swords and axes do not exactly lie behind my back.
Second - in the early video of the siege (and then on other videos), the character makes such a gesture - rotates the weapon over the head, probably summoning the fighters to himself. This is a modern gesture of special forces. Maybe you should replace this gesture? For example - just poke the weapon (or empty hand) over your head from side to side. (for example - left to right)
I have everything for now. Thank you

Wow, look, even here the two-handed sword hanging on the belt! And it is right

It’s a vague rotating movement above the head, maybe in calradia it’s common place?
As for the weapons on the back, I agree it isn’t realistic, but I’m not sure how else weapons can be carried.
Maybe it could be done like in the deluge warband mod, where big weapons are dropped if you switch to a sidearm.
AmateurHetman, weapons can be worn on the belt, and a very large weapon - in the hands.
A large weapon in his hand and putting it on his shoulder.

True. Rotating movement above the head as we can see in the gif is poor swordsmanship. It looks like the sword is behind the head, which makes the movement slow, leaving the warrior vulnerable. It's like Hollywood fighting, where they make wide moves to make feel the warrior is delivering a powerful hit. A competent swordsman willing to deliver powerful blow would be just as quick as usual, making quick attacks. He would be more concern about missing his target of being blocked.

So what happens to this large weapon when the player swaps to a sidearm? The large weapon is dropped on the floor? I enjoyed such realism in The Deluge mod but I doubt that most players would welcome it, or that Taleworlds would risk alienating people with such a feature.

It's not swordsmanship of any kind. It isn't a combat move, it is just a natural way to catch the attention of your troops- it's very noticeable, like waving a hand or a flag.

Also, when the player switch to the sidearm, he would drop his main weapon. More immersive.

Please Devs don't change this feature , I really want some cinematic battles and I bet even those complaining do

I dont think 360 spinning and dual weilding weapons would improve the franchise

lolbash, do not apologize - everyone has the right to their point of view! And I respect your opinion, but I stay with my

In Warband there is a two-handed/one-and-a-half sword that hangs on the belt.

first review your concept around a polearm, a great sword, and a two handed sword.

then think about the difference between marching with a big weapon, and fighting with a big weapon on your shoulder.

and what happens if you want to use a horse in combat.

i agree. Realistic medieval combat is boring as all hell. Also if people don’t want 4 weapons equipped don’t equip them. there is a reason people watch Kingdom of Heaven and Vikings more than they watch Pommel throwing documentaries.
