We are not talking only about the flashiest, most important things, such as warriors, weapons or impressive architecture: in order to be realistic, a 3D world needs to take care of its smallest details. 3D modellers do exactly that: they work like sculptors, giving shape to their imagination to create and populate the worlds we will “live” in when we play. In this week’s blog we talk with 3D modeller Ümit Singil, who takes care of such things – but being one of the most veteran members of the TaleWorlds team, he has a history of doing a good number of different tasks for the Mount & Blade games.

[/parsehtml]Read more at: http://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord/Blog/36

This is not about political correctness.. There are different ways to approach a discussion and tell somebody they might have one of their facts wrong, certainly starting by calling somebody "You are so historically illiterate that you should start with the alphabet first before asking such questions" is not one which will serve your purpose..

You serve the truth, you say, and that's arguably fine, but making people feel like complete idiots will actually do the opposite as you will activate a billion defense mechanisms in their brains thus shutting down their capacity to listen and learn..

Read Carnegie, Laloux and others who are experts in this, and they will all tell you the same: you will never "win" an argument, somehow you always lose, whether you are "right" or "wrong", unless you approach these situations differently you will never teach or enlighten anyone, in fact you'll help the "truth" to stay hidden.

oh I have a question I wanted to ask for a while now:

When in diplomacy fiefs are exchanged at one point or another, will the populace be unruly at first and are there any ways to counter this? are the population & civil unrest even features of the game?

Nice trick question. The map looks fine.
No, it definitely looks worse. Which may be "fine", but is still lower quality from what they have shown us before.

Why does the map look worse than before?

I kinda feel like they are showcasing on lower texture settings. It's most noticeable in the trees, who seem like they are not being shaded like before.

I feel like I commented about this on the thread, but its buried so I can blame you.

But again, Its because they are testing the game on lower end systems and lower graphics.

Unless we are talking about the UI.

Yeah John understood what I was talking about. The difference is quite noticeable.

Was this confirmed?

Well a while back people were concerned about the game not running well on lower end pcs so it's understandable why they are doing these tests.

I seem to remember a month or so ago, one of the devs mentioning in the blog forums that they decided to pull the directional occlusion lighting system out of the engine due to the fact they were't getting the necessary fps out of the system. I believe the main purpose for the current set of delays is something along the lines of lighting quality/performance balancing.
