I love this minor faction "Karakhergits".Really like their name.

skirmish horse archers that actually work. That will be fun to go against when playing a melee centered faction

keep the good work!

Very well done, it seems like you guys flesh out the factions really well. Callum, I have a question that popped in my mind after reading this blog, back in the very first gameplay live demo we saw this guy:

(click to show/hide)

Question: What faction is that armor from? I have seen cape physics on shoulder pieces already, can we use capes like that in-game or it has been scrapped?

Pretty sure that's The Sturgians. Check the siege video on youtube ( attacker one) . You can see some of the army composition, some wearing what looks to be that armour.  0.58 secs , guy on catapult left side.

Huh...reminds me of the mongols...speaking of the mongols. Do you think you guys could add whistling arrows? I thought it would help add to the thrill of a fight, and possibly keep people on edge during a fight. Also the shots look amazing! can't wait to try them out.

I thought it might be Sturgian but that guy does not wear the armor from the menu. He wears chainmail with striped legs. The menu dude wears lamellar/cloth and a full cape as shoulder piece. The helmet is also different and so are the gloves.

It really bothers me how the map borders are looking like they'll be as dull and boring as Warbands. Seems like maps won't be near as realistic and beautiful as at least the 1st Rome:Total War (released quite a long ago).

 :D Let me just put this here :

While watching the captain mode  videos I realised that some of the Khuzait troops(lancer class of the cavalry branch to be exact) wear Cuman armors.
WHO were the Cumans ?
https://en.wikipedia.org/index.php?q=aHR0cHM6Ly9lbi53aWtpcGVkaWEub3JnL3dpa2kvQ3VtYW5zI0JhdHRsZXNfaW5fS2lldmFuX1J1cy4yN19hbmRfdGhlX0JhbGthbnM
''The Cumans (Polovtsi) were a Turkic[1][2][3][4]:116 nomadic people comprising the western branch of the Cuman-Kipchak confederation. After the Mongol invasion (1237), many sought asylum in Hungary,[5] as many Cumans had settled in Hungary, Bulgaria and Turkey before the invasion.[6][7]:2[8]:283''

Here is the video:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BLLgHmOykw
and here is the cuman armors: https://www.google.com.tr/search?q=cumans&dcr=0&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi4zL2r0KfXAhWKD8AKHQl4CHgQ_AUICigB&biw=1536&bih=747#imgrc=-G2vWBe665OqHM:

Note:Same armor also can be found on other Turkic tribes of that area(neighbours of Cumans)

Edit: I think I should have wrote helmet instead of armor.

About Kara Khergits, yes kara means black but black is associated with South while ****(White) is associated with North in Tengrism(remember **** qoyunlu and kara koyunlu from EU4) Also White Huns means South Huns(hephalites' other name).

Anyways thanks for the faction that I am most interested in great blog.

My only disappointment is that I was expecting a unique city system from Khuzaits like they would live in yurts(hundreds of tents next to a river) and their cities would cahnge their position between 2 places one for a hilltop in summers and other one a low land in winters but appearently they are settled in a city that they conquered like in Warband .

Thanks for the infos again gotta love Khuzait helmets they are the coolest looking helmets in the game for me !

Edit: For some reason the site censors a-q yes a-q means White and also South in Turkish and mongolian

except when it was necessary to turn one chief against another with a bribe, or remove a rising khan with a vial of poison.

Now i wonder if there are bribe/assasination features.. :ohdear:

I guess it's allready safe to say from previous blogs and interviews that bribes and assassinations are part of the core mechanics of Bannerlord.

On another note,

"Karakhergits", hum? I remember you guys talked also about that "Wolfskin" faction on the Batannia blog... Just how many minor factions are there going to be on this game? Will some of them actually control any cities or settlements? Cause, frankly, that would be absolutely owesome. Having minor Kingdoms, City States or something of the sort as buffers on the borders of large empires would add a lot of realism. It would still be owesome if these factions were only nomadic/para-military/rogue bands of people but there is certainly a LOT of potential for more elaborate and owesome experiences here.

Personally I find it way more appealing to fight for a minor city-state betwen say Vlandia and The Western Empire than to serve either of those two factions.

Could be sturgian or imperial, or both. Beeing inspired from actual history, it could be a sturgian serving the empire. The byzantine empire did hire scandinavian to serve as elite soldier, the Varangian Guard. I think this soldier would be in the imperial side, look below the belt, it's a clear give-away of his faction.
