Our directional attacking and blocking mechanic is intuitive in the sense that it is easy to pick-up, and deep in that it allows players to continuously develop and adapt their own fighting style through the use of feinting, chambering and good footwork (including a well-timed kick!).

[/parsehtml]Read more at: http://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord/Blog/32

A similiar comment was commented on last blog too; But will we be able to use a button (like x in Warband) to change more than we could in warband. For example in warband we could change from throwing to melee or use it for couched lance. But could we also possibly be able to change/do an animation when pressed. For example could the player press "x" and then hold his swords bottom way up and as a blunt weapon or use an arrow as a weapon?

Also will we be able to use 2 weapons or atleast mod 2 weapons? and not in warband where the one works like a shield and other as a sword, I mean proper dual weilding.

Duel wielding is laughable, no such thing is allowed in Bannerlord. With a mod yes, probably but nobody cared to make one like that in Warband. It's stupid.

Nobody could. In Warband this is hard coded, therefore not modable.

dual wielding is a common fighting style on Hollywood movies and RPG games. Last time I checked MB was inspired by several RPG elements, while Bannerlord is focusing even more on that. It may be unrealistic, not-practical, a good way to get yourself killed in a battle, but that doesn't change the notion that is looks cool.

does Bannerlord needs it? Nope (as it would be a feature with limited use in general)

could it get it? I see no problem with that. It could be a nice DLC (install only if you want it), toggle option, etc. If it costs extra money (animations, testing, etc), put a tag price on the DLC and tell players: if you want this, pay us $5 bucks. And so on.

do I want it? Nope (free or otherwise)

Wonder how long it will take for people to create min-max posts on how to build the ultimate sword (stats wise), what is the best SP sword you can craft (and where to find the parts), etc. Let the insanity begin

I like how the system simplifies the calculations for weapons, it should help the vanilla game and mods to be more consistent with balancing combat. Instead of giving random values to your 1000 weapons.

Whoa whoa whoa... thrusts aren't affected by weight distribution???! The whole point of weight distribution is to favor either cuts or thrusts, with cut centric weapons having the point of balance far from the handle, ie axes and sabres, and stabby weapons having the point of balance close to the handle like rapiers.

As far as dual wielding goes it makes practical sense in some specific situations. Sword and dagger is a common combination in medieval manuals. However to make it fit into the gameplay of M&B is entirely impractical and would probably only work in a dual setting. It actually might be cool if dual wielding was an option for judicial duels.
One thing I want to know about is weapon harnessing. If you are mid battle and you want to change from spear to sword, will it still be a 1 second animation where you throw the 10 foot pike on your back and then continue to fight as if there isn't a giant polearm stuck to your shirt. Or will you be forced to drop the weapon before you can ready the next. It seems to me to be rather unrealistic to be able to go from sword to two handed sword to spear with such little consequences. In fact the whole idea of mounting polearms on the back (swords too for that matter) seems a little ridiculous to me.
I understand it is more playable (or is it) the way warband has it. But maybe an option for realistic harnessing, in the same menu as one would decide friendly range damage, would be cool.

I like the fact that weapons will only be more powerful up to a certain weight and will then lose bonus to damage. It should prevent fantasy sized axes and hammers from getting used to much in the game. Or at least that's what I hope.

I hope weapon crafting can be disabled in the game. Yawn

It's a nice feature but was it a highly requested one? Seems odd to spend resources on if not. I much prefer to scavenge from the battlefield in any case and likely won't use it.
