In this week's blog we would like to reflect on our experience at Gamescom 2017 and discuss our new multiplayer game mode, Captain Mode, which we invited visitors to play in a hands-on demo in Cologne. We are becoming quite the regulars at Gamescom, with this being our third time attending, however each visit has acted as a completely unique learning experience that has helped us to refine and improve both the game, and the way we go about approaching these kinds of events.

[/parsehtml]Read more at: http://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord/Blog/23

Is prosperity finally going to do anything?
For example will it affect what things are sold in stores, number of recruits or amount of people walking around?

Also will it be possible to upgrade modifiers of weapons and armour ?

Great videos.

Questions for Ceren:

1. Will modders have a campaign map editor, which can create new world maps , move party icons etc. that duplicates the look in-game without other programmes?
2. Is there a limit to the number of terrain types on the campaign map or can modders create new terrain types & specify their properties (i.e. passable or impassable etc.)?
3. Will tools be available to modders for vertex animating map icons and static map props such as windmills?
4. What improvements have been made to campaign AI?

Thanks.

-Is the aging system stll being worked, or it has been wiped out from the game? It was mentioned long ago but never again.
-Related question: will lords, ladies and characters be able to die and to have children.... before dying?

Cheers

Will there be scripted or randomized events on the campaign map? I.e., an additional faction invades after a specific amount of time has past, or a peasant has become a named bandit and begins pillaging the countryside, etc.

Hi there ! Congratulations for the new stuff . Good idea that weekly blog, we love it ( even if I still can't get used to the idea ) So my questions:

1) Is it possible to have a friend join you in the single player campaign as a commander of a fraction of your army ? It's a sort of multiplayer option that seems
    possible?

2) To improve the depth of the late game is it possible , wen you are the marshal , to send a general with some lords to patrol an area or even better to siege a
    place ? ( city , castle , village ) .
      - Also to have the possibility to have someone recruit and train the troops that you need .
-Or send a messenger to a lord to come and meet you.
Those are aspects of the game that were great pain in the back in the late game that ruined the feeling of being a marshal .

3) Is it possible to have a mini map MP campaign with Lords and king roles occupied by players ?

4) Do shields or other objects have passive protection in Bannerlord ?
If you hold an ax in your left hand will you be able to parry with it? I don't mean attack just parry .

5) Is there an extra slot of equipment or at least can you carry some extra weapons on your horses saddle ?

I stop here but I have a thousand more questions obviously .

Edit : Will horses or other animals (donkeys) give you more inventory space? I mean wen on foot you can carry some things , when you have a horse you can carry some more , when you have spare horses much more.

Hey Callum,
Just writing to express some concern. You guys seems to be showing off a lot of the combat and multiplayer, but I haven't seen very much regarding diplomacy or the economy of Bannerlord. Just my personal thoughts here, but the immersion with Warband broke for me when talking to NPC's about politics and the economy. It felt like talking to blank eyed computer programs, and that kind of ruined the experience. Have you guys made any improvements in that area?

Love the weekly blogs. I know everyone seems to want specifics on game modes, but I'm just happy to have something banner lord related to read every Thursday morning with my coffee. Keep up the good work.

It seems some developement goes on the good way. Pretty good to see after the long waits something about the game and as others asked I would like to know how the single player mode goes.

Also some questions.

1. With the new mechanics and armors/items/units etc how the modding will goes and what program needs for making mods to the bannerlord?

2. There are features which maybe not in the game but on a later time after the release could be in game in form of patches or simply expansions? I guess expansions would make it troublesome to multiplay with others because others also needs those expansions.

The main things which interests me if there are on plan or already in the game something like a dinasty mode or feature lik in crusader kings1-2?. Also there would be other way to make new kingdoms and settlements without using mods and map maker? I would like in the base game to make settlements which I can upgrade later on into towns and cities and make a separate kingdom isntead joining to an existing one. It would be nice to build houses in game and make full towns and design every part of those buildings and make distinguish from the existing ones.

3. There will be a normal multiplayer mode with servers "I mean like warband" where you can play the same modes and joining into lobbies like what we have in warband?

4. What do you guys think about a beta release like what we have in warframe to help and speed up your progress with feedbacks. I know you are a different studio and dev team but maybe the more feedback from players could speed up the development process and it can be easier the bug fixes.

These were my thoughts and questions and good to see you guys working on this game so much

Also sorry for grammatical mistakes and for if there were similar questions asked and answered already but I logged in just today after a long hiatus and not followed the game developement for a while. I wish good luck to you and hoping for more news

Will you add friendly arrow fire for bots? I hate it when enemy shoots me even when i`m standing behind one of them and try to cover myself with his back. They always make super close shots to their buddies but never actually hit them.

Questions for Ceren Üstündağ in next blog:
- what effects do the seasons/weather have exactly, on a party on the world map and/or in battle.
- will there be anyway for a smaller party to harass a larger party in the campaign? I find that it is limiting to have to fight a pitched battle, with no option to employ hit-and-run or guerilla-style tactics if you are at a numerical disadvantage.
- any idea if there will be mercenaries with customisable gear? (Not too bothered here as mods will do that)
- have any changes been made to the recruitment system? I know from the pc gamer article (from the magazine edition), there was some information about recruiting from an NPC.
- any interesting political developments? Like elections of faction leaders?
- what rpg elements have been improved upon? Can we expect to be able to lead a fellowship on quest after quest without getting bored?

There are probably many questions I have, which I just can't remember right now.

Well, none were invited, so... It's the same thing as with Lust, Callum invites people he knows, and they are all MP people.

We, the silent SP majority are not represented when MP-only people are community managers.
They were showcasing multiplayer.... think that answers your question bud

Of course they were. That doesn't mean they couldn't have showcased SP features. But would they?

Given that we are doing questions, and that this is about a programmer...

-What is the modding aspect within the campaign you are most excited for? (E.g moddable non-linear storylines? Perhaps an example of new things that could be added with mods, akin to the diplomacy mod with Warband?)

-What is the extent of moddability you are planning, in regards to campaign?

-If you could add anything to the campaign, that is currently not implemented, what would it be?

Q: will we be able to roleplay as others than mercenaries or lords in a much better whay than in previous games? For example bandits/looters or merchants or maybe even something else like a villager.

Why on Earth would you want to play a villager simulador? What would that role play consist of? Harversting beats and cutting down trees?

In next week's blog we will be talking to Ceren Üstündağ, Lead Programmer of the Campaign Team. If you have a question you would like to ask her then leave a reply to this post and we will pick one out to feature in the blog.

Some chance of seeing the Campaign map which would be great, as it's been a year and a half. It looked pretty good but somewhat sparse in details and features. Hopefully it's been sexed up a bit.
