Gamescom is around the corner, and as you may have imagined, we will be there showcasing Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord. We can’t tell you exactly what we will show just yet, but we can at least confirm that it will be something slightly different from the demo that we took to E3.

[/parsehtml]Read more at: http://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord/Blog/21

I'm happy that you took your time to actually say that we won't get a release date, in order not to raise useless expectations. I appreciate that. I also appreciate that you're putting a lot of effort into making the best game you can. Of course, just as others, I feel a bit 'meh' about not knowing how long to wait for this, but I still look forward to Gamescom and, well... Next year's E3, I suppose.

Then there’s the multiplayer aspect of the game, featuring a matchmaking system for the first time in the Mount & Blade series

There's still going to be a server browser, right? You wouldn't be stupid enough to to remove that in exchange for an inferior matchmaking system?

Yes, you'll still be able to host your own servers, as stated in the Q&A thread.

Welp, lets start off with mentioning that you are still keeping your word with having a blog every Thursday, I like that. However what about Bannerlord Alpha or Beta testing?

To sum this up: the release date will be announced only when the game is ready.
Following this logic it means that the announcement of the release date and actual release will be no more then a couple of weeks?
It's fine by me! I would rather find out that game will be released in a few weeks than waiting half a year or even more with a degree of incertitude of extending it even more if targets are not met.
I hope this puts an end to all the hysterical behavior on the forums!

Yes I am wondering about this aswell...... :???: :???:

But here's the trick, knowing or not knowing you will wait anyhow, or do you have another option? it's not like you have to choose to take action for....
Your only option is to live your life in the mean time.

Thanks for telling me that I'm mentally impaired and I can't figure it out.

Just kidding, but obviously it's easier to be excited for a particular product if you know when it's going to be available, or -if- at all. However, please don't make me look like the guy who cries for a release date. Sure, I'd appreciate it, but I'm not here begging for it.

I am also wondering what it means when they say: " we give a Releasedate when game is ready". Does this mean the release date will be something like " in 2 or 4 weeks" or " in 2 years"......

Pretty much saying they don't care when or if they release the game. Just making a game in their spare time because they want to, just happen to get paid for it.

still, as a long timer MB player, I would like to see more actions instead.

if Bannerlord is ways off, why not gather a small team (3-6 devs) and update Warband? Improve the performance, update some of the graphics (engine), new content, and so on. If Warband was their second baby, then it was left to raise itself years ago. Show some love to your second kid, not just the new unborn baby. The older kids (MB and MB:W) will get jealous!

I wonder what we could have today if Warband had a continuous level of support (small updates) over the years. Look at what small teams of modders have done. And the paid products like VC. Now apply that to a professional team, inside TW, working with all the assets/tools, over 5 years

But, how are the wealthy among us going to know what date to set on the Cryo-chamber? If a man wakes up too soon, a man may cry.
