It is an exciting summer for TaleWorlds Entertainment: our community & communications team recently showcased Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord at E3 in Los Angeles, and next month they will visit Gamescom, Europe’s biggest games industry show, to give hands-on demos to quite a number of journalists.

[/parsehtml]Read more at: http://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord/Blog/19

A slight suggestion as well. I would have someone in charge of managing the console community. I know someone was assigned, but everything is completely dead there. It's just a cycle of the same poor schmucks asking the same questions without anyone answering, unless it's a negative comment. We know your priority isn't Warband on consoles, but someone has to let those guys know you're still alive.

Thank god developers responded. Their game outshined EVERY GAME ON E3. It's incredible how such a small team was able to make something, that even giant studios with huge budgets can not. Unique and balanced combination of genres was like breath of the fresh air in this pile of high budget cloned year after year titles. Weekly dev blog is a brilliant idea, thank you for this, after E3 many people was hiped and REALY waited not for release, no, for RELEASE DATE. It could be any date, just SOLID date. And i think it's time to say when.

Again big thanks to the devs they responded to the hipe after E3. This is not what all community is waiting for but the start nonetheless. And this is very good.

A decent improvement on communication, but I will foreshadow that any good will gained in this community by these developer blogs will likely be lost if the blogs contain no new information about the game or if Gamescom has no mention of a release period, even if it is to say it is next year or the year after that, it will be better than silence on the subject.

In a recent interview Armagan Yavuz reportedly mentioned that internally the team "doesn't necessarily have a release date" for the game, which he also noted that "most of it was done" and "we're doing the finishing touches". Which the first half of that seems to contradict the second half... I have to say, artistic endeavors aside you absolutely need to set time tables for your team 'necessarily'.

You have to reign in the pursuit of perfection at some point to achieve an end product. Chasing perfection is a rabbit hole many a developer has fallen into never to return from, you enter Freelancer/Star Citizen territory of hunting the greatest result possible with current technology only for current technology to improve in the time it takes to do that, lengthening the track on which you are running, never achieving your goal.

Good post.

In addition, we would like to hear from Armagan what did he learn from the mistakes leading to this state of release date-less limbo.
Also, what are the main problems in development and how does he propose to deal with them.

A week ago you so said in a turkish game magazine that the game is being delayed because you want to make the game more immersive, could you perhaps tell how you are making the game more immersive in what aspect?

Will there still be cheats lmao

Lol no worries there. There is mod support... "debug" will be essential, and if you watch the siege footage you can see what I assume is ctrl-H used to restore to full health.

Hello!

Me and my subscribers would like to know will there be a possibility to choose the castle you want to build? Meaning to choose the gate strength, moats, chistol, may some sort of traps?

Weather: will rivers and lakes be covered with ice in the winter time? If yes, will the ice be broken under some weight during battles?

Heritage: will there be a heritage system in Bannerlord? If yes, could you please tell us more about this feature?

Best regards,
Temchello Play.

---------
Also, will there be a possibility to raise the insurrection during the war?
------
About economy in Bannerlord. Will we have a possibility to build our own trade empire on one of the available products?
------
When we have not really good relationships with people in our vilage, will there be a possibility that they will raise a insurrection?
------
Will there be a possibility to build different types of buildings in our towns? (like it total war for example)

Yeah, about this...

There is a disconnect between the strict discipline imposed on Taleworlds' employees, especially the poor PR guys like Lusty 1 and 2, and Armagan's arbitrary reveals in Turkish (and other) media. Address this, please. All available information/media on Bannerlord should be available here, on its official forum. In English, at least.
Sync it, gag Armagan, whatever it takes, just don't let him do a Scaramucci (i.e. killing leakers while leaking).

If this is not possible because he was ordered by Erdogan to leak stuff to Turkish media, let him blink a SOS message when he does video interviews, we'll understand.

Hi, I really hope that specific features will be in the game that I think will be really cool. First, I want troops to match the colour of the the lord's banner, so if a lord has a green banner, his troops will have green clothes under their armour. I want this for vassals and kings. I also think that customizable troops would be really cool. So the player could customize his own troop's equipment. And lastly I want the option to have unlimited corpses on the battlefield. It may be hard to run but it would be nice if the option is still there, thankyou very mych, I can't wait for this game.

@Callum_TaleWorlds, since you are clarifying things for people, can you confirm if these weekly blogs will contain new information on Bannerlord or not?

Don't get me wrong, dev profiles etc are better than silence. I just want to know whether to get my hopes up .

This.

We haven't got a lot to go on, especially considering what was originally promised with the previous blog posts. It would be nice to get some new info, and not just dev profiles etc.

I don't know what you mean about what was promised for the past blogs, but with the blog posts so far they have mainly talked about game features, though some early blogs focused on the different teams and touched on the processes they went through in developing the game. It sounds (from the words of this blog) like the emphasis on the future blogs will be the opposite, with most of the content being background and insight into the workings of the development team rather than specific new game information. I don't get the impression that they suddenly feel they have a lot more to say or that they want to reveal more details about the game. But of course that remains to be seen, and we only have one week to wait to get our first taste of the new style of blog.

The regular blogs they were supposed to post, and not the one or two every few months, those blogs. I mean, I know it's been 5 years and all, but even I can remember them saying they would do that, and my memory is awful at the best of times!

First, thanks for giving us the opportunity to ask questions for the blogs. Truly appreciated. I have some about the game that if possible I would love to be answered in one of the blogs.

1) Time and ageing. Am I correct in believing that years are only 12 weeks or so now? That being the case, has the day and night cycle been extended to prevent characters aging too quickly?

2) Lords and families. In an interview it was stated that we can execute Lords. Is this true? If so is the rumoured possibility of children (which would help explain the 12 weeks year cycle) also true, allowing them to replace lords, and can we play as our own children? Will Kings have children? Id so could we marry a princess and become king after his (natural) death?

3) Player Permi-death. Is it a thing? If so is old age one of them? :dead:

4) Romance  Is there more depth to it? I enjoyed romancing in Mount and Blade but once married wives would lose any personality and become glorified party organisers. Will their different characteristics transfer after marrying them, and has more depth been added to said characteristics beyond poetry preference?

5)Horse Archer ai. In M&B they tended to charge straight at the enemy half the time, requiring intensive micro. Do they avoid and skirmish them now as they really should without micro (at least into they run out of ammo)

6) Would love to hear news on the lesser factions, those bandits and mercenary groups mentioned. Can we join them, become a bandit king? Unite them or recruit them to a factions/our cause? Any news on them really, or for that matter any campaign info would be great, as we have had a lot on battles but little else in a long time.

Beyond these questions let me just say thank you for all the effort you have put into the game so far, looks beautiful. Please take your time, I've waited 5 years, I can wait longer. No rush, just make sure it's good. And thank you for reaching out to the community, we've been waiting so long for this.
Love ya, SirNerdyBrit

I seem to recall a promise for more dev blogs awhile go ago..

Anyway! I'll trust you in this; Your apology feels pretty heartfelt and sincere! It's hard to admit when you're in the wrong, you know.
