Finally, someone who understands!

I assumed it was something to do with Palestine, though I had no idea what any of you were talking about .

Both are old Medieval Germanic songs associated or inspired somewhat by the Crusades at the time (at least Palistinalied).

Christ ist Erstanden (Christ has risen [from the dead]) was actually the warcry of the Teutonic Order (and apparently their official anthem too, if the internet is to be believed).

Das Palästinalied is an early 13th century German Crusader song, of which both the text and melody have survived, which is nice.

TIL that remarriage is forbidden after triple talaq. However there is an exception. If the woman marries with another man and they consummate the marriage and they wait for a long enough time and then divorce, the first husband of the woman is permitted to remarry the woman once again. And there was a profession in Ottoman Empire for this problem. You could hire someone to marry your divorced ex-wife for sometime with the promise of divorcing, so you can marry her again.

Aaand the Czech Republic has its first man convicted for a terrorist attack

A senior who chopped down trees and used the logs to create a barricade blocking railway tracks in a curve, scattering around leaflets to make it look like an Islamic terrorism, in order to rally domestic population against the migrants.

Gdansk mayor stabbed at charity event

What the ****, what the ****, what the ****?!

The popular mayor, a former member of Poland's main opposition Civic Platform party, is seen as a liberal voice and has supported rights for minorities.

I seem to remember reading an article about some former-PO mayor who was liberal townspeople's hope of founding a new opposition party against PiS. That him?

A significant chunk of East/East-Central Europe is either rural bum****istan, or industrial areas that had seen....better days.
Depending on where you are, it's a good day if a political conversation didn't quickly turn to border MG-42 emplacements.
