EUROPEAN ALL STARS MATCH
The tournament has come to an end, and what better way to say thanks and farewell to this amazing tournament than a EU All-Stars match? The best of each top EU teams will face each other in a match of intense madness!
This All-Stars match will use the WPL rule set, however, we’ve made some slight adjustments by changing the 8v8 ruleset to a 10v10. We’ve decided to go for a 10v10 format as there’s many top-tier players who’ve played to a great standard in the WPL. The maps will be picked by the team captains from a map pool; faction’s randomised. We’ve chosen two leaders, the first of which is Oliveran because of his astonishing ability to lead players, as he has done for many years. We’ve chosen Menethil as our other captain, as he’s been in many top-tier teams being a great second leader for the majority of them. To try and make the two rosters as balanced as possible, we’ve gathered a team of 8 people who have given us their opinions on player’s performance, statistics, consistency, and the ability to play as a team member. From these opinions, we have created a list of possible candidates, which then, were given a rating in order to balance the teams. We appreciate all the given support on choosing the players for this All-Stars match!

During the candidate picking process, we’ve come across a major concern which was the over-representation of two major teams; AE and Random. To make the tournament fair, we wanted to give the opportunity to other top-tier players who’ve performed well in other high-tier teams. The selection team took candidates from the top six leading teams., We also came up with the idea of creating a candidate cap on the number of players from each clan, which stands at 6. This doesn’t mean that the other players didn’t perform well in the tournament, we’re just giving the opportunity to other players that performed well. As a reward to AE and Random for being the finalists in the EU Regional stage, both teams were “awarded” by having one extra player from each clan in this showmatch. Unfortunately, not all the players that were selected wanted to play or were able to come but we’ve still managed to gather a healthy 12 players for each team (2 for substitutions). We’ve made sure that the replacement candidates were similar to the previous candidates. The admin team is extremely happy with the result, and we hope you all appreciate the time and effort gone into creating the rosters.

This Sunday, the 26th of February, at 19:30 GMT the finest warriors to have ever walked in the lands of Calradia will enter the arena alongside their enemies, facing their friends and companions. Blood will be shed, for your pleasure, and theirs. Only one team can stand. Undefeated.
