Elf`s Helm

Hi!

What is the origin of the Elf`s Helm? It seems like the "real world" prototype is this viking helmet: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/142285669448208272/

The pictures on the helmet is more likely saxon or briton, but I am really not very familiar with this.

As the "elf" said, it is a old helm from other times. It is historical based pre-viking times.

So it is a helm of briton(celtic) origin?

No  that is like Valsgarde Helmet

Isn't the Valsgarde helmet swedish? Which would make it post viking correct?

Elf's dialog explain as he got it.
Oh gotcha, so I hate to keep asking, and we can speak in spanish if you like, but does that mean it is based off the sutton hoo helmet?

The Elf's Helm is actually the helmet from Broa (Gotland, 8th century). The existence of the cheek pieces is discussed. It follows the tradition of the Norse 'spectacles' helmets of the Vendel Culture, that have a later example in the 'Viking' helm of Gjermundbu (Norway, 10th century). We decided to include this one as an "ancient heirloom" just to provide some variety to the weapons. In the game's period it would be a very old fashioned design, due the existence of the crest, the eyebrows and the decorative plates.

This is another interpretation of the Broa helmet, owned by Matt Bunker, from the British reenacment group Wulfheodenas:

However, most of the helms of the Pinterest page you have linked are dated on the Vendel Culture, the period that predates the Viking era.

Cheers.

Thanks so much! So might I asked which king you had in mind that he stole it from, because what I am picking up is it is a pre-viking helmet, but from Scandinavian lands, and apparently the little "elf" pissant stole it from a king. Im sorry to bother so much I am just obsessed with history, and as you, as fellow history nerd, can appreciate whenever I find a new detail or trail of info that I had no knowledge of before I becomevery eager to soak it all up. Sláinte!
