Hello everyone,
after spending my afternoon trying to figure out how tweaking works in this game, I finally made a breakthrough on how to disable companion interactions so that they don't leave or feel unhappy about other companions. I am aware that there is another fix for it, but it requires you to start a brand new game which I was not willing to do. So here is how you can change it for 2.023b on an existing savegame:
1) Go to your installation directory (for example E:\Steam\SteamApps\common\MountBlade Warband\Modules\Viking Conquest)
2) Make a Backup of your "scripts.txt" file (The one in the modules\viking conquest folder - NOT IN THE NATIVE FOLDER !)
3) Edit the scripts.txt file and search for "do_merchant_town_trade -1"
4) In the next line change the value of "43" to "45" (because we are adding 2 functions in the next step)
5) Now parse the following line behind the number 45 (make sure that there is a space between 45 and the rest of the numbers!) and save afterwards: "2133 2 1224979098644774912 0 2133 2 1224979098644774913 500"
6) The beginning of this line should now look like this: 45 2133 2 1224979098644774912 0 2133 2 1224979098644774913 500 21 1 1224979098644774912...... lots of other numbers afterwards..
7) Start the game and travel to a town and trade with a merchant (I traded with the general goods merchant - just bought and sold random stuff)
Now all companions should be content
I just wanted to share it because I read this question repeatedly in 2-3 tweak posts with the general consensus that it would require a new savegame. So hopefully I helped someone out!
Credits go to the following people for providing the groundwork:
I'm sorry, I wanted to link the forum links that I used but apparently thats now allowed for new users.
Thanks to DerHerbst, Kraggrim and ReDevil
Cheers
