We spent the past week or so finalising and cleaning up our scripts after the tournament, and I actually ended up creating some interesting stats while testing stuff out. So, I thought I might share it here! Especially since it seemed like a nice conclusion to the thread, and it can be a bit of an easter egg to find for people who still check it (and it's actually Easter, how appropriate!
)
Anyway, so first wanted to optimise the pie chart generating a bit, and I created this knock outs analysis that covers all the matches in the playoffs stage. You can find the kill distribution chart for the entire match first, and below it there are separate charts for each team. It might give a bit more insight into how a match played out, and what the strengths of particular teams are. As always, keep in mind the footnote when looking at the class percentages.
The second post is an overview of each team that took part. I made some improvements to my formula for determining best map/faction f(you may have encountered an early version of it in the group stage extras) and was eager to test it, so I thought this might be the perfect opportunity. Feel free to leave comments if you agree or disagree with it, and the feedback you give will be helpful so we can further tweak it in future. I know the font on the charts is a bit small, sorry about that. The kill types are actually grouped by colours tho, so you should still be able to easily make out what's going on. Just remember - red is for 1h kills, orange is spear or lance, yellow is cav stuff and green represents ranged kills with dark green being headshots, blue is for javs and purple is stuff like hammer kills, and I'll see if i can do something about the font size in future.
There's few surprising things in there! Wtf Russia, that's a loooot of inf kills
And poor rhodoks didn't make anyone shine it seems, maybe a thought regarding the faction balance.
Most of our stats so far have been focused on individual players, and these final two posts focus more on team as a whole. It's a bit of a sneak preview into some new features for the next tournament, so you can expect to to see more general stats like this in future.
Finally, I fixed poor kellerma. He seemed too spirit broken to even care about his n's
Happy Easter!
