Time Golem

Recruit
The current game is a vast improvement over release. Yes the absurd 2D map is replaced by a more M&B style one. Anybody who likes pirates, M&B or sandbox games should check it out. 174 days into a campaign with a lvl15 character without any faction affiliation (just using letters of marque) and still a lot discover.  101% "difficulty rating".
Some feedback in no particular order ...

Character development: Nice depth with the trait system but probably making you OP against the AI. Perhaps AI lords & captains should also benefit from such improvements. That would also make battles more unpredictable.

Tavern missions: Fun stuff but probably best in the beginning when you have nothing to lose and later when you're on the OP side. The risk/reward ratio needs some tweaking. The loss of all equipment is OK but it's too much of a hassle to lose your party & companions upon failure. How about if you dock your fleet, your companions will wait for you in the harbor until you escape? Or once you escape your companions return to you on their own over time?

Escapes: After a while of repeated escapes the guard population exceeds the prisoners ... in the 100's.

General immersion: Lack of women characters? You see them in town and there was a governer's daughter in the blackmail mission but no companions or other ladies to court? Some more pirate/civilian clothing would be good as well.

Naval combat: Too easy, especially once you get a mid-range ship. Grapeshot is too effective! I can reduce a galleon crew to 0 in two salvos. At that point there should be an option to just surrender & spare the crew. Maybe big ships can have boarding action in 2 or 3 phases? For example some of the crew hide below deck to ambush etc.

Troop trees/balance: Looks good but the natives could use some help. How about a native faction?? Lord parties seem too weak as well.

Trading: AI inventories seem to replenish too fast which makes trade runs too easy. All the towns seem to be permanently "very rich".

Weather: Always sunny, how about some storms? Make the seas more treacherous. Shipwreck scenarios?

Morale: I've had a mutiny on land after a prison escape. How about some mutiny scenarios related or unrelated to morale ...

Keep up the improvements!
