The slave isn't in the village, he's in a little hideout (like a bandit one) on the world map. Just walk around the village and you should see it.

The dog is in villages, talk to the elder to see if there's a stray one in that village. Also you need sausages to recruit him.

So it seems there's no super elite stompy cavalry units in this mod, and training takes like 20x longer than usual so I end up stuck with mercs and any tier 3 units I can recruit from villages and towns that love me.

I want to start my own kingdom but I have no means to fight off those thousands of enemy units with a few hundred men and to take fortresses with relatively few casualties, so it seems my only choice is to rely on the other lords more

I could join each of the factions in turn and give lots of jewelry to all the lords til they all love me but that would get really expensive. I really need to be feasting them I think

Am I correct in assuming I need to be married to throw feasts? If so then I would need to somehow ensure my husband follows me as I faction hop, or if I just stay with one faction and then rebel then I need to be sure he will rebel with me. How can I do this?

1. Spears are buffed, so yeah, you're ballsy if you find it in your heart to charge headlong into a shield wall. The closest thing you'll come is Frankish Horsemen with their Heavy Horse and Long Warspear.
2. Do as I did. Camp-> Options -> Levelling -> Beginner. This will turn recruitment timers from half a year to half a month. I have Recruitment, Levelling and Budget all at Beginner. My 500 sized army composition is about 10% noble, 2% cavalry, 10% utility and the rest are various amount of medium infantry ranging from t-2 to t4.
3. That's what I did as well, having just one dude with 250 units extra makes all the difference.
4. My male character is a king, not married and I've not seen any option to throw a feast. I think you'll be fine with relations by just questing around and helping your fellow lords out in battle. ^^

1. Why does Adventure Brunhild lack clothes? http://i.imgur.com/oLVRj6K.jpg?1

1. It's a bug, you're better reporting it in the support sub-forum. I think Brunhild isn't actually supposed to go adventuring anymore, what version are you running?
2. You can't, they're gone forever. VC is quite unforgiving when it comes to companions , it's part of the design philosophy.

Lets clarify a few things here:
1) Beginner options are good for someone starting the game while you learn it. They will most likely lead you to a easy game which will become boring eventually (low challenge), so keep this in mind as you play more. You can start a new campaign later and increase difficulty. The game is balanced for normal options, most veterans play with hardcore options.

2) XP for troops: " from half a year to half a month" -> incorrect.
Hardcore: 1.04 values
Normal: RE new curve
Easy: Slight easier than normal, in special for the low tiers, so you can have recruits to T3 faster. Good for a casual gamer or a new player that never played VC before. It is about 50% of the normal XP.

When you are level 18+ (including 5-7 companions) you will train recruits (level 12) to the next tier (level 1:cool: in about 5 days without any combat.

3) Game is intended for armies having at most 25% heavies (level 26+ troops). You will start with low level troops and slowly increase your army quality as you increase your own level, skills and ability to make money.
If you walk around with a army of elites the game will offer no challenge, so keep that in mind if you think at some point that the game is boring/unfun on combat (you are using easy options to have a army stronger than you should)

Let's just say I've gone tiered of grinding Mount and Blade for 2700 hours. Slap me and call me a filthy casual.  :iamamoron:

1. Ah so they did actually change that, cool. My save game is pre-patch, Broony had already recieved an honorable discharge before I patched my game, which would explain her loosing her mind and stripping naked.
2. I thought I could recruit them as lords, seeing as I'm a king... I've heard wrong on that one, I guess...

you can, but as a vassal and not a companion. The companion will first need to join a faction.

Companion -> Adventurer -> earns enough renown with battles over time -> Lord (can be invited to join your faction)

They are not "lord material" on day 1. It takes time for them to grow into that role (hence the name adventurer)

Once they are a lord you can get them after you destroy the faction, etc. If a dialog option is missing you can report that on the support forum

Hi Team,
I'm trying to court this lady Asgerd, who belongs to the faction that owns Dublin. Problem is the faction lost Dublin and does not own a major town any more, so there is no more competitions and in feast etc, she will not appear.

I try to talk to her father to ask "forming alliance with your house" and our relation is now +100 but her father still says "need to know me a bit more".

So my question is what can I do to marry her.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: whoops, I reloaded the game and now he does allow me to meet her. So all is well.

Are there less vikings in Northumbria than a few patches ago? Just started playing again after some time but i can only seem to find small bands of 4 people quite rarely (sandbox mode).

Whaat, the parties are way too small imo, i wanna fight 80 vikings at once not 4  :iamamoron: , anywhere else where i can find more vikings or is this area still the number 1 go to place to recruit/fight vikings?

Level up and their party size will increase over time.

Level up and their party size will increase over time.

also check your Camp -> Options. You have a option to choose the overall number of bandits in the world (Less or More).

A new bandit group only shows up when a old one is destroyed (by you or a npc party). Say that should be 3 bands of vikingr there, and there are 3 small ones. The game won't create a 4th.

I have the "Powerful Lord" goal at this moment all the stats its asking me for to complete it, renows, reputation, troops, etc.. but I keep getting the message "You are very close to complete your goal" or similar instead of completing it.

What do I have to to complete it?

all the meters need to be full and you also need to be a vassal in a kingdom (a lord).

Like in troops: you need a army of 150 troops and you have about half of that with you
