A Duel with a Young Lord

I was sailing along the English Channel, and I get a message saying something along the lines of this;

"A young lord has been making bad comments about your mother"

So I select the option to duel him, because I like to keep my honor up and whatnot.
It tells me he's frightened to duel me, and runs away.

Has anyone else gotten a random message like this? It certainly was a morale boost for myself 

Seen this also in few Warband mods made before VC. Its just a random event. Dude always choose to flee if you opt to duel him and you get few renown (or honor) points for that.

I have gotten this event about 4 times in my 500 day play through and every time I go to duel him he runs away. But I'm a tall norse berserkr with 22 str 10 power strike,throw and iron flesh so it's probably a wise move on his behalf. Has anybody actually duelled this fellow?
