B Musket Era [NW] Crimean War mod. (Need help with scripts)

This map will be about final assault on Malakoff on 8 September 1855. But as far as I know, lower part of the tower was covered with glacis with ditch between tower and glacis, and upper part of the Malakoff Tower (or the White Tower as Allies called it), was destroyed during the first bombardment on 17 October 1854 (fragments of tower constantly wounded Russian artillerists, who were on a battery before tower, it was so bad that they were forced to withdraw from there). So after the first bombardment fragments of tower were throwed down and tower was completely covered with earth, ditch was filled up with earth, and on the glacis of tower was made another battery (which I made). Since that the tower served as field hospital, casernes, powder magazine, headquarters, shelter, and even as field church.

I will also make map of the first bombardment, where Malakoff Tower will be intact (in the beginning of round), and I plan to make upper part of tower destroyable.

In order to maintain interest for this thread - here are some screenshots of working on Malakoff Tower. I have not so many time for modding now, but work continues:smile:

Dude, nice!

Hi all! Sorry for not posting for a long time. Work continues (it never stopped, actually), I try to find time for modding every day, but unfortunatelly it is not always possible.
Currently I continue work on Malakoff Tower defences scene prop, it is ready (I showed screenshots couple of times, but it was first (after 4 or 5 times remaking it almost from scratch with new ideas and principles) one scene prop, indestructible and big, so there couldn't be any LODs (and with all that gabions it has many-many poligons). So now I must disassemble this whole thing and make every embrasure (luckily it is enough to make just 203 types of them), every merlon (part of wall of fortification between two embrasures) and every traverse (raised mounds of earth designed to defilade the interior spaces of field works and to limit the area effected by explosions occurring within gun positions) as separate destroyable object with LODs (and I must make every object independant, so there were no empty spases. Currently I finished more than half of them, all what's left is to correct deficiencies and export them. And you must understand, that I've never done this before, so sometimes after big part of work I see flaws or better way to make it, so I must remake that work in new way, so in the future all new stuff to make in that new way. For now I have results that satisfy me, so I hope I won't remake something in the future. And also this is important work, because I can use that merlons, traverses and embrasures in other scenes, so in the future work on scenes will go faster
And also I'm reading a lot of literature about Crimean War, searching for information and ideas for mod. And also I'm searching information and pictures about units I want add. BTW, working on uniform is much easier, than on scene props, because I have other uniforms, which I can combine and retexture with slightly modifications - and here goes new uniform. BTW, next uniform I want to add is British artillery, maybe I'll do it shortly just to update this thread.

To understand what I'm working on now - here are some screenshots. Earth, which falls from these objects to the ground, will be unseen inside merlons, but if merlon will be destroyed (with earth from it filling the ditch - this will be the goal of artillery and sappers - to make breach in the wall and fill ditches with earth so infantry can quickly advance) this earth will be sen, so there will be no bugs like flying traverse.

Traverse I made yesterday (I made it something sililar to traverse on one of the photos of defences near Malakoff Tower)

One of merlons (the wall between two embrasures), there will be a lot of them, with different sizes and shapes

Embrasure (there will be different types of them, especially for Russian fortifications, because at the beginning of siege of Sevastopol there were no gabions at all, so merlons and embrasures were made of barrels, sandbags and metal cicternes (where sailors on their ships kept fresh water) filled with earth.

BTW, if someone can provide me with a list of Turkish regiments, which took part in the Crimean campaign - I will be very grateful
I have enough information about Turkish uniforms of that period, but I found a little information about organization of Turkish army in the Crimea.

Another puzzle. Where any Tunisian troops engaged?

http://www.aberfoylesecurity.com/?p=1195

I read that Tunisians were at Balaclava and they lost British guns and redoubts, but it can be not true, because "noone wants to be that Turks at Balaclava", so it could be any other unit:smile: I read also that they were very poorly armed, so that's why Allies kept them from fighting. But they were in Crimea, so I'll make their unit

The 500 Turks in redoubt 1 at Balaclava held off 8 Russian battalions for 2 hours taking 170 casualties (34%) before routing. They got a bad press and no support from the British & French (see pages 272-274).

Page 85
The Ottoman army did form a Tatar cavalry regiment in Gözleve in the Crimea, however, this was only at the request of the Tatars and after the French had already accepted 150 Tatars into their cavalry.
Page 189
Among the Ottoman troops, 8 battalions were selected from the esnan, that is, new recruits that were 20 to 25 years of age and the remaining two battalions from the redif, that is, the reserve, middle-aged soldiers with families to be worried about.
Page 268 - Alma
Mirliva Süleyman Pasha’s forces were incorporated into the division of the French General Bosquet.
Page 282
The allies continued with the siege and bombardment of Sevastopol and Piedmont-Sardinia joined the allies with 15,000 troops. In April 20,000 Ottoman troops came from Gözleve to take positions outside the siege works.

Indeed, I've read similar information too, for example Russian general Totleben writes that the redoubt №1 was taken after "stubborn resisting of Turks". And  while researching Turkish uniforms I've read several French  and British opinions of Turks - they make impression of good soldiers.
Not making Turkish part in Balaclava battle smaller, but in the same time those 2 hours were artillery firing, and after that there was short but heavy melee fight (which doesn't make those Turks cowards of course). And Totleben writes about only Azov infantry regiment advancing to the 1st redoubt, this is 4 battalions, not 8 (the whole column of general Semiakin consisted of 8,5 battalions, but again, only 4 Azov battalions were engaged in attack on the 1st redoubt, at least so says Totleben, and as he tends to write honestly and very detailled, I think we can trust him here).
But after Balaclava the British blamed Turks in giving up the redoubts with British guns in them, so they formed overall opinion about Turkish soldiers as cowards, so French and British treated them respectively - they used Turkish soldiers as workers only, not counting on them on the battlefield. But shortly after the Turks successfully defended Eupatoria, proving that opinion wrong.

Anatolian infantry. They lost theit bagpacks and greatcoats in the battle of Başgedikler (not sure if I wrote it right, it's from German Wikipedia), so Anatolian infantry even year later didn't have regular backpacks. Also yellow colour of piping was changed in 1854 to red, as the rest of the army had at the time, so in game there will be mixed uniforms.
