Naval Combat: Boat Driver Is Drunk

Whenever I go to fight in naval combat, 95% of the time the ship I'm on either doesn't move at all, or starts turning left and spins in circles the duration of the battle. Rarely, rarely ever does it properly function and go for the enemy boats.

Am I doing something severely wrong or is this just a bug?

I assume you are trying to drive the boat you are on.  In which case, I assume you know to use the arrow keys and the enter key to control your ship.  I have had the left spin thing happen before, but it was canceled out as soon as I started to steer.

I had no idea you were able to drive your own boat. I feel like an idiot now lol

when you play the story-line campaign you have a tutorial explaining how to use the boat.

I completely ignored the campaign lol. That would explain why.
