The religion idea is interesting, don't know for sure  if I can implement it but will have a go. Eventually anyway. Busy playing Fallout 4 (though I think it will kill my poor laptop fairly soon).
Thanks,i just wanted to see how fun the axe is(without creating a new char)....more than 100 damage in average armored foes.....beautiful
And for the conversion tweak it would be good to have some purpose on converting settlements....i still dont see the point.
Also i wish you have fun in fallout 4...best RPG series ever in my opinion, cant wait to play it(right now it costs 10% of my wage....but i have faith in steam!)

You should come and see here in South America. In my country, fallout is 1/3 of the minimum wage =P

So is there a tweak to set the maximum number of enemies that will declare war on a player at once?

I get that kingdoms want to keep factions in check but I really don't want to have to fend off 9+ enemy nations just to expand.  I'd like to actually finish a game and conquer everything.....

I'm lucky that I didn't have to pay for it, using the steam family-sharing service .

This is a very complex system (one of the reasons the next patch is taking so long I think), so would be difficult. Are they declaring war to 'curb your power' or something like that? I could maybe find a way to change the threshold for that.

I'f they're becoming hostile for religious reasons then use this tweak.

Yes, curbing power.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I can't even do anything since I can't trust my own lords to "Defend the Kingdom" while we go on a campaign to one of our 5+ enemies (who I have never done anything to).

Stop other kingdoms declaring war to curb your realm's power (2.021)

Ok, backup scripts.txt and then find this bit:

npc_decision_checklist_peace_or_war -1
445

Change the 445 to 427

then remove this whole section from that script:
5 0 31 2 1224979098644774951 1224979098644774913 31 2 1224979098644774920 0 1073741854 2 1224979098644774932 -1 2147483678 2 1224979098644774960 1440 2133 2 1224979098644774966 0 6 3 1224979098644774967 432345564227567631 432345564227567653 2147483679 2 1224979098644774967 1224979098644774912 2147483679 2 1224979098644774967 1224979098644774913 542 3 1224979098644774967 21 0 2190 3 1224979098644774968 1224979098644774967 1224979098644774913 2147483678 2 1224979098644774968 0 2133 2 1224979098644774966 1 3 0 31 2 1224979098644774966 1 2133 2 1224979098644774961 -1 2106 2 1224979098644774961 1224979098644774939 2133 2 1224979098644774962 216172782113786260

I think that will mean no more declaring war to curb power, if I'm reading it right. Your existing wars will still be ongoing, and they might declare war for other reasons. Not tested it myself but apparently it works.

The Norse Huskarls have a chance of not wearing a helmet, in Morgh's editor, the helmet box is not ticked. Intentional or not, I don't like it and would like to change it without having to start a new game.

Use the save editor to change their 'flags' value to the same a another troop that has all the boxes ticked that you want.

Thanks, I'll give it a go tonight.

EDIT: Only about an hour in....I made peace with Gywnedd....then without a notification I found out I was at war with them again. I could have sworn a few days ago it happened like that too with Gywnedd....ugh.

Hmm, are you at war with any other Britonic kingdoms?

How would I go about increasing the needed time for conversion from two weeks to, say, a couple months?

Try increasing the 1.000 at the start to 4.000. As I said I'm not exactly sure how this process actually works but I think that should do it.

is the any way to make formation during defending castle?
in some castle you meet your enemies in open gate and long bridge, so i find the best way to defend is attack, but i can't form wallshield outside castle
it is nothing important, but i like to see attackers slotered in proper viking way...

At the time I was at war with Alban(the one below the Picts), Cornubia, Norway, East Angle, Brychienog, Mide, Connachta and Gwynedd.

Town/castle recruits eventually change to owning faction rather than original 2.012

Increase the 179 at the top of simple_triggers.txt to 180  (make a backup first) then add this at the bottom of the file:
1.000000  4 2136 3 1224979098644774912 648518346341351445 648518346341351714 2204 2 1224979098644774913 1224979098644774912 522 3 1224979098644774914 1224979098644774913 10 501 3 1224979098644774912 19 1224979098644774914

(try_for_range, ":center_no", centers_begin, centers_end),
(store_faction_of_party, ":party_faction", ":center_no"),
(faction_get_slot, ":faction_culture", ":party_faction", slot_faction_culture),
(party_set_slot, ":center_no", slot_center_culture, ":faction_culture"),

I think it will take maybe 2 weeks for your centre's culture to switch over, not sure though as I don't fully understand the process.  I was under the impression it should change the 'culture' slots of all the centres in that range at once, but as far as I can tell it seems to do them gradually/randomly over time. Possibly I'll be able to improve this.

Castle/town recruits to be based on current faction (from kalarhan) 1.04 Not working for current versions

Edit: If people can report on if this new version works for them and if so how long to take effect I'd appreciate it.

connaito, I like Caio but he does seem to cause a lot problems, little troublemaker .

I can confirm that it works and instantly takes effect.

Did you take a hostile action against Alt Clut, Cornubia or Bryicheniog shortly before they became hostile? That probably did it. It's a Native mechanic that doesn't translate very well to VC. I'll have a look at disabling that one at some point.

I never declared war on any of them.  However I did defend my lands.  I assume I/my vassals fought at least one battle against one of them between the peace and the non-declared war.

Is it a cultural thing then? That does seem pretty cheeseball - intended or not.

If I'm remembering correctly kingdoms who have 50+ relations with each other will lose relations with the player/player-kingdom if you take a hostile action against one of them, even if it technically brings you to war (and no declaration).  In Native this rarely happens, but with VCs many kingdoms and shared cultures it's more of a problem. I think this might be one of the things being reworked for next patch, but I may have a look anyway since we don't know how long that'll be.

Ahh thanks for the insight.  That truly is a bad feature (intended or not).  I started a new game as Wessex and took over all of Cornubia.  Without messages again, both Alt Cult and Gwynedd were at war with me again.

AHHHHHHHHHnnoying.

Is there anyway to add a feature from Diplomacy, like the one that gives a "report" about the lords opinion for who should take a fief?

It's sad to need to make a Feast whenever I need to give a fief away. Specially since I conquered the whole Scandinavia by myself.
