Tweaks for Viking Conquest (one for 2.028, others for 2.021, 2.012, 2.010 etc)

I want to change dependability of party size from factors. To reduce combine leadership effect and increase effect from renown. It is strange to me to understand than biggest part of my influence is about my companions. If i do not want to have in party many of them, i lose  20-50 men in my party size per companion and from 700 renown i have some 70 only. Why this people are so influentional? Some grooms, farmers and priests.

If it is possibility to change this from txt files, tell me please.

Could the become high king of Ireland quest be tweaked so that your faction has to own the three towns and not you personally. I don't really want to indict one of my best lords for treason but i've gave him Temair not realising I need to own it to complete the quest.

Related to the above request, how about adding in fief-reassignment in general? Kinda surprised that's not in the base game.

that is a feature request, not a tweak. You will need to wait for a modder to publish something like that (most likely after the game source is released, which is not the case yet)

So, something I've wondered for a while now is, is the huge man recruitable? Maybe if you mess around in the codes he will be but I'm just fascinated by the idea that I can have huge men with trolls clubs swinging around with beserkers by their side

Easiest way would be to use Morgh's editor, have Norse Bodyguards or Berserkers or whatever upgrade into the troll (called Huge_Man or trp_troll_bridge).

Or just use the cheat menu to get the troll equipment and give it to Clovis.

Giving to Clovis wouldn't work because the troll guy has 400 wp and 30 str and agi.

May I give troops to any Lord If I'm not the marshal? 'cause I like Vikings, they run like rats when they come to Britton

Like Warband Native, I can edit in Conversation.txt file:
dlga_lord_talk:lord_give_troops 69631 204  2 31 2 144115188075855887 432345564227567629 2147484208 3 144115188075855885 8 0 I_want_to_give_some_troops_to_you.  242  0

432345564227567629 to 144115188075856122 or 144115188075856123

Give troops to Lords even if you're not the marshall, king or even same-faction 2.012

Edit in Conversation.txt file:
dlga_lord_talk:lord_give_troops 69631 204  2 31 2 144115188075855887 432345564227567629 2147484208 3 144115188075855885 8 0 I_want_to_give_some_troops_to_you.  242  0

Remove the red bit completely and change the 2 to 0

Man kraggrim, how do you know all this stuff?

In this case I seem to remember from a different tweak that the bits before the spoken dialog are conditions that need to be filled for it to be available. Might be the relevant ones here, I dunno.

In general it's knowledge gathered from a variety of different places, like this thread, the tweakmb tweak-viewer function, and studying the source code for native warband. Most important is cross-referencing that native source code with it's header_operations file and then the VC files then filling in the blanks. This was great advice from  kalarhan , I didn't even notice this before, I was just looking for familiar patterns and systems, took bloody ages.

The header_operations file shows how different operations show up in the text files, and explains what they do. So for instance the 31 in this line in the text files:

dlga_lord_talk:lord_give_troops 69631 204  2 31 2 144115188075855887 432345564227567629 2147484208 3 144115188075855885 8 0 I_want_to_give_some_troops_to_you.  242  0

is this in header operations:

eq                        = 31      # (eq, <value1>, <value2>),
                                    # Checks that value1 == value2

Which we now know corresponds to this source code line:

[anyone|plyr,"lord_talk", [(eq, "$g_talk_troop_faction", "fac_player_supporters_faction"),

in the native code. This checks that the lord is a of the player's created kingdom. In VC I think this has probably changed to check that the player is the marshal of that lord's faction, but I can't be sure since I don't remember how this system works in VC.

The 2 before that 31 is how many operations are going to be used here, so since we're removing both (probably unnecessary to do both but whatever) we set it to 0.

Is there an updated tweak to find more recruits in villages and towns? The original seems broken.

Original:

Number of village recruits (2.012)

Backup scripts.txt then find the update_volunteer_troops_in_village -1 line. In that line you can find:

Minimum troops available:
Quote
2136 3 1224979098644774935 0 1224979098644774928
Maximum troops available with low relations:
Quote
2133 2 1224979098644774928 7

I don't know if it's relevant or if it's already been said, but I found a way to "give" a fief away, being a vassal, with MnBSaveGameEditor.
I consider this semi-legit, since you're literally losing something, and it's a feature that should be in the native game IMO.

Tested on Viking Conquest 2.012.

Here it goes:

First of all you have to load up the save you want with MnBSaveGameEditor.

Then navigate to party_records and find the fief you want to edit. For an example, #237Ribe By North. Under party, go to #slots and find #slot_town_lord(7). There will be the number regarding the lord who owns the fief. If you own it yourself, the number will be 0. You simply have to change this number to -1. Don't forget to export the save.

The fief will be ownerless, and your King will be able to give away the fief normally.

This works on villages.

Change that number to 1298. Now go to the 'troops' section (about 6 lines under party records), open it and find the companion that you swapped out. Open their 'slots' tab and reset 'slot_troop_occupation (2)' to 0. You also want to set their 'slot_troop_cur_center (12)' to a number between 21 and 50. This is the town they'll be in, you can look which number corresponds to which city under the party_records tab if there's a specific one you want.
@kraggrim Thanks for reply!
I did it, and it works, well but I cannot find another companions.
I see slot_troop_cur_center (ex: 34 Dunwic) and go find in tavern, but no one there!

i want to change in module  the troops exp kill. in order to make xp gain 40% more do i need to set the number to 2.4(from 2.0)

tweak your game
start it with cheats enabled
open savegame
open party (army) UI
select a group of your soldiers
use SHIFT+L cheat command to give them XP. Repeat as needed it until that group is ready for a upgrade.

Repeat the process (changing your tweak numbers) until you are happy with the results.
turn off cheats

play
