Ok, so we've had regions famous for making plate armour (Milan for Milanese, etc.), but do we have the same for maille hauberks/byrnies/etc? Any time period in Western Europe will do, but especially ca. 1000 AD.
I've never heard of such, and I suspect that the difficulty in transport and mass production (and, of course, the general lack of efficient production of armour quality iron) prevented the rise of specific regions where maille was particularly famous.
