Some music for your modding pleasure

Users who are viewing this thread

This isn't really a mod but I wasn't sure were to post this.

Someone asked me to make a music pack but my music is amateur at best.  I have a bit of self made music lying around on my hard disk so I thought I'd zip up a few music tracks and upload them since their not really being used.
Some of these were originally intended for PVKII mod but they've since got a much better music artist then myself and I don't think these tunes are needed.

Feel free to use these for your M&B mod's or just as music tracks for M&B. Please ask for permission to use any tracks out side of M&B. Thankyou.

The tracks have varying themes; medieval, viking, pirates and one inca aztec temple like track.

tracks are:

Call of the wardrum (a track I made with experimental irish chant vocals... I suck at singing but it was fun)

Jamaican_rum 2 (Sea chantee with vocals for fun)

Knights Chilled medieval track

pirates march

set sail

game_1_15 experimental latin vocal track

t_1 somewhat medievalish track I used for a mini trailer ages ago

The heretics medieval track with atmospheric chant vocals in the back

The last duel  barbarian like track

The Maze  ( an inca/aztec temple like track)

titel_7_ed3 the track I used for the abandoned trailer

Viking_1 one of my first ever tracks... fairly lame though.

Enjoy.. hope it helps.

Still in the Philippines until Mid jan.
Finally managed to get an orchestral plugin and use a friends music software (same as mine at home).

Had some time to make another track while I play M&B on my laptop here.

This one is called march of the Nords.

Feel free to use it with M&B or for your mod(s).

Please ask if you wish to use the track outside of M&B.

Thankyou.

Please let me know if the bass in this hurts your speakers as I dont have very good audio hearing devices with my laptop.

Track is an action style track but can also be used for the main map.

Heres another track I completed yesterday. The last two track are at version 0.9 and may be subject to change pending decent feedback or my will to change them.

This one is called Calradian steppes. I went for a west/east-european/asian and slight hint of middle east tang to this one as I had the steppes of Medieval Russia/Turkey in my mind.

This is a much slower paced track to begin with and then picks up the pace somewhat in the center and towards the end.
The mid section is kind of trippy and I used a variety of instruments to make it sound tribaly/wierd in a way...

Track is more map mood/calm mood.

Again please ask if you want to use the track outside of your M&B mod.
Enjoy.

Please ask before using the track outside of an M&B mod or useage. Thankyou.

A modern like contemporary track, not sure if modern ones are anyones cup of tea... I have heaps back at home. I wont be using these so much for my Vocals soundpack unless I cut out the electric:

Guts and Glory is a repetative action modern track inspired by the Black Hawk Down Soundtrack. Electric guitar at the end so mabey more for your modern/neo mods.

Please ask to use outside of M&B. Thankyou.

Over the Mountains custom track by me.

Medieval setting...
Kind of experimental and may be confusing.. I will include it in my vocals pack depending if testing works out and feedback is ok...

the pieces have good but repetitive melodies, its like listening to same thing for 2 minutes and there is no tension that excites the player, it goes up slowly than goes down so gently.. i like them, especially the heretix one.

Yeah this ia the main problem with my tracks.

Some are good for background and they are all better then native

I think you should make some shorter ambients (on level ups, quest completetions, rising in rank etc.) and loops (for castles, towns etc.), I think those would add a lot to mods, take less time and probably be a good practice.

thanks

If I can get my hands on an orchestral samples cd and when I come back from overseas in a month or 2 I will have a sit down and try.

I like! I especially like "game_1_15"

I might try and incorporate a few into the Wild West mod.

Some of the strings sound a bit mechanical, but I guess you can't do anything to change that unless you have a program like Cubase - and I think that costs £1000's!

My best advice?

Get that song from 'The Last of The Mohicans'.

There's three versions- one from the beginning of the film, one from the middle, and one from the end.

Two of them though I think are sort of similar.

Regardless, one of the best songs for a dramatic setting. Ever.

Listening to it now. Sounds Awesome!! I was looking for this before. I never noticed it in the movie itself but I noticed it in an anti-war youtube vid and was wondering were it was from.

Definatley cool music. Thanks.

You have to put them in yourself at this point. If your using Native game then its easy but if your using a mod then its not as simple. I can't make a script for your mods because if the mods have music then that wont play (since I don't know what tracks the mod uses which u want the track for) after Ive done a script.

Hence the music is mainly for modders who want to use it or you can just add it to your native folder and edit the music.txt to include the tracks.

As far as being mod ready I add some of the tracks to vocals pack mod.
