Let's see...how about: FRICKEN HOT!

Wow. This sounds a lot like any time some girl posts in the Say Cheese thread. Or 'post your dream weapon'?

Aw shut-up. I can sound like a girl if I want to.  :P

I didn't like it one bit. I feel like one more lie'd be the last bitter drop in a chalice full of sorrow. And then...then I'd do something I'd later regret. Now do you know why you can't lie to me?"

I'm gonna steal your idea.

It wasn't my idea, it was my inspiration unto you.

Nope, I have a craftsman's persona.  I made it because it was fun to make.

It's a 14 lb. hickory sledge --that's a 10 lb steel sledgehammer beside it.  I call it "dink" -after the sound that wood pegs make when they're hammered into their tenons.  (I had originally planned to make two other sledges named "donk" and "thunk", but I think one is enough!  XD  ...although I did make something else in the same family.)

It's a tremendously useful tool for "persuading" things to move.
Seriously.  I thought I was making it just for show, but it's stunning how many times I've had to nudge -or pound- timbers or beams into place (or knock down walls) and dink has been precisely the right tool for the job.

Well, I and Vilhjalmr recently went to a renfaire to release our pent-up badass energy by looking awesome. I have a few pics; mind you, they are quite large, so those with crappy internet/small screens, go die.

And here they are:

Me in my year-long project. I made the helm in the last week. If you cannot tell, I am a soldier from about 1407, in England. All the clothes are hand sewn and lined:

Vilhjalmr in his Viking garb, wearing his week-old costume, the helm I made him, the shield I own, and New Balance sneakers:

And a group photo. Those are our sisters, if anyone cares to know, being (from the left) a medieval-esque female, a Viking, and a 1400s merchant's daughter:

So, whattya think?

Eh, I know. There were some landsknechts at the fair (NO COMMA) who bitched at me a bit about them. Oh well.

Fixed, you arse.
