We are the Einherjar, immortals and Odin's chosen. Every day we do bloody battle and every night our wounds are healed and our bones mended for us to fight anew. Ours is the never-ending war.

Created in August 2009 we are among the first warbands on the scene and have a long history of being dedicated WB beta testers, players, modders, server hosters and community members.
Our roots are in the Scandinavian subforum and our ex-storhøvding and honorable founder NaglFaar's vision to assemble all Nords under one banner. This led to the creation of the Einherjar for Scandinavians and shortly thereafter our international branch 'the Shieldings' for our brothers and sisters abroad.

We have gone through a series of developments through the course of the past two years. Where we were initially a Nord-only clan we adapted to the standards of competitive play in the EU by entering the European Native League, and we are now well-trained and versed in using all Warband's factions in matches - though still Nords at heart.
We allow and encourage casual play but are at our core a veteran competitive clan. For this purpose we have a special branch, the 'Hird', a standing force made up of warriors meeting certain criteria. Otherwise the Einherjar have an open recruitment policy, though non-EU players should be aware that we mostly play on EU servers.
Also, most recently we've merged the Einherjar and Shieldings into simply the 'Einherjar', the divide of the past for a long time only a matter of tradition.

We play and have played most of all the different MP mods that have come out for Warband, here mainly Vikingr, which were created by some of our members with support from the clan. Recently some of us have again taken to play cRPG where we have an unofficial group for casual play. We also play a lot of other games together, mostly in the strategy genre, though we are and have always been very active in Warband and chiefly Native; the base on which we were created and in which we are solidly grounded.

Quote from: Märkesvakt (Banner Carriers Guard)

The Banner Carrier's Guard is selected by the Banner Carrier, to become his right hand in battle.
This means that he will never leave his master's side in battle, unless otherwise specified by the master.
As a Banner Carrier's Guard you may ask permission to be dismissed. That means that the Banner Carrier's Guard DO NOT have to follow the Banner Carrier in battle.

The Banner Carrier is the only one that can have a Banner Carrier Guard
Banner Carriers may only have ONE Banner Carrier Guard each.

For the next rank you need:
A nomination from the Great chief, a Chief or Einherjar.

Quote from: Märkesman (Banner Carrier)

The Banner Carrier is selected by either the Grand chief or chief, to become his right hand in battle. A bodyguard if you will.
This means that he will never leave his master's side in battle, unless otherwise specified by the master.
As a Banner Carrier you may ask to be dismissed. That means that the Banner Carrier DO NOT have to follow their master in battle.
Being Märkesman is a tough job and not for the weak. He must be able to follow orders to the letter.
Your master trust you with his life, so do not let him down.

Great chief or chiefs are the only ones that can have a Banner Carrier.
And they can only have one Banner Carrier each.

For the next rank you need:
A nomination from the Great chief, a chief or Einherjar.

Quote from: Hövding (Cheiftan)

Reaching the rank Chieftain requires not only awards but also an inquiry by the great chief.
If you have become a Chieftain it is due to your demonstrated responsibility and activity. A person who is not active in the clan will never get the chance to become a Chief.
A chief is almost like a great chief fixed with just a bit less rights.

Chieftain has the rights to:

Kick
Recruit
Order of battle
Share warnings - but not to the Grand Chief
Distribute Awards

For the next rank you need:
A nomination from the great chief, a chief or Einherjar.

Quote from: Storhövding (Great Chief)

This rank is reserved for NaglFaar who created the original clan, the Einhärjar Clan. No one can become great chief by climbing through the ranks.

As the Grand Chief, Naglfaar has the right to:

Administer
Kick
Recruit
Order of battle
Share warnings - even to the Einherjar in sammråd with governors and other Einherjar.
Distribute Awards - Although the Märkesman and Brand Watch.
Nominate candidates to Einherjar

His word is law!

Quote from: Einhärjar

You are the best fighters in the clan has. Nobody can match your strength, skill, and finesse.
Through countless conflicts, you have repeatedly shown that no resistance is unbeatable.
Horses, archers and infantry seems that grass for a lie when you're on the battlefield.

An Einhärjar is voted on by the clan members, and the votes need to win with a 80% minimum of at least 30 votes.
From the rank of Berserker and up, you can be nominated by a great chief.
The Great chieftain of course, consult the already existing Einherjar, and determines whether the candidate is suitable.
Afterwards the candidate gets nominated and the voting begins. This means that the Einhärjar is elected by the clan and has certainly earned his place.

Einhärjar has the rights to:

Kick
Recruit
Order of battle - an Einhärjars word is above all in battle, even the Grand Chiefs!
Share warnings - but not to the Grand Chief
Distribute Awards

For the next rank you need:
Die in real life and go to Valhalla!

Just a heads up.

We are no longer 'recruiting' so to speak. We have enough members now and I'm happy with both the quality of person and players at the moment. Applications may still be made, but aren't guaranteed to even get a trial, and it would be preferential if someone who would like to join would speak with me or Killerblead and we'll see from there.

The current trialists will be allowed to finish their trials however, so don't worry.

Update the player list with the one we have on the website perhaps, Corey ? With seats of honor for the old chiefs Eiríkur and Gudrun, of course.

Skjöldungar (<- there's dung in that word!), reassemble!
Vodka and mead for all, except for the Englishmen who only drink cider and tea! Let us make this thread as bad and meaningless as the last one we wrecked!

Good luck with your brand new superold clan!

I´ll help you fill this thread with so much nonsense, it will soon reach the same post count as the old!
