Other 3D Art The Specialist's OSP Models - v1.2b Released on 11/14

Users who are viewing this thread

Well, I actually won't be able to update tonight due to some technical difficulties.... I lost the kamax and other spear models that were on my flash drive due to some stupid kid and his foot.

Added this to the OP, link is up.
Note, these are from OpenBRF without normals or specs, so they don't look that good. From top to bottom:
Kinigi - 288 polys
Palton - 288 polys
Kamax - 296 polys
Grosphos - 128 polys

If I get some help from an expert texturer, I'll make these all over again with steel tips, for some variation.
Another note, this update contains some Bastard Swords, a cheap mace, and some funny banhammers.
It also contains some sceneprops of a Romanesque arena.

If anyone needs something done for a mod of theirs, let me know. I'm not the best, but I can do some stuff (really, don't try to make me do any kinds of body, leg, or head armor. Lol) so...make a suggestion!

Ok, Specialist, I doubt you have to be an expert texturer to turn those spears into steel. Do you have them on separate layers?
Second, I like the look of those spearheads. I'm getting down with the spearness so to speak.

That's just the fun of it, I don't have separate layers. Though I can just desaturate and give it a more metalish texture, then paste the old over the new, and Presto! I would have kept the layers, but I was doing it in BMP instead of a layer supported image format.

Thank ye. Apparently I ought to thank the reference pictures.

Alright. I guess I'll help and explain what I did in a txt. file or something. Upload it so I can take a look at it.

*Facepalm* I'll download the osp. The texture should be in there.

I'm redoing all normals now. The spears look alot better in-game, and your normals Gothic are perfect anyway.

Is this what you needed?

Exactly! Thanks to Gothic, I now have steel versions of all my custom spears (not the retextured native ones).
This is also rendering with new speculars and normals that have been properly done.

The Doru (not an accurate size comparison)

The Palton

Edit:
Just made this thing over 5 minutes. I made it lowpoly (63 to be exact) on weapons2 so that I could spam it in huge battles.

Ermm, what is it? The sword rather.
A project that I failed.

I initially based it off of a Persian Akinakes, but I failed a quarter of the way through and never renamed the model. It's now some form of long dagger that needs to be cut out of the OSP. I may make a post regarding my failed models for people to use. And I also did another laconian, with 125 polys instead of 450. Hehe
