So now it's official? Lust didn't even edit it himself, send Maynd to edit it.
22nd Battalion
0-20
Revenge of Nobility
(Default win)
That is the most absurd thing in Warband history. I can't believe that ENL tournament is tarnished by unnecessary, completely useless new rule which 'penalty' is out of proportion. Here's what Shavseti posted on RN thread first.
"RN 20 - 0 22nd
RN won by default victory. The match ended as RN 9 - 10 22nd. 22nd used someone who wasn't in roster, it cost them the match.
I think we deserved this result. No need to say the reasons. Thanks for the great match anyway."
Not a deserved win and you should be ashamed of yourself for accepting a forfeit/default win victory even though you lost.
Captain lust informed me last night at 3.30 (I was just going to bed) that Nico wasn't part of the team and that because of this 'violation of rules' match would be forfeited to RN which is absolutely, undeniable utter bull****.
1. Nico did go to ENL Registration server on the
13th of this month, the rule about substitutions thread was made
18th. There was no question that Nico wasn't part of the team.
2. Nico, not to take anything from him, did only play second map with scores 0/3 and 1/3. He wasn't a factor in the match.
3. Clans before us who violated the rules didn't get punished nor receive forfeits/default wins. Why are we an exception?
4. Also the penalty for such a trivial and minor thing (and it's a completely new, unnecessary rule) is way too harsh in context and in proportion to the penalty for it.
It's like the new NHL stanley cup winners Boston Bruins losing their Stanley cup trophy via forfeit because one letter did not arrive in time. Just think about it. The penalty is absurd, out of context and out of proportion and the rule about is just plain silly. We know clan members and we've done this ove two years of time. We don't need unnecessary and time consuming paperwork.
5. It also makes the ENL tournament prestige plummet straight down the train.
I signed up for a competitive tournament, not a bull**** paperwork forfeit tournament. It's a completely new rule and we haven't had problems with it nor did we ever receive any warnings first. Other teams at the start of the tournament weren't punished, then why should we be punished.
6. It's a Div A top, five star classic match agains the best of teams. Had RN won and they had had one guy in the team that wasn't on the roster. I know that I/we wouldn't want the match to be forfeited for us. I don't want default wins, no one does. It's silly, it takes away the competitive spirit and completely ruins the tournament. I'm afraid that the ENL will fall apart if the decision stays.
If the decision stays I don't know what will happen. I'm not interested in continuing the tournament if it falls down with rules like this and captain lust's new, flawed rules. Also I know that RN is steaming about the loss and if they were honest bunch of warriors they wouldn't accept the forfeit either, just like we wouldn't. I want this tournament to be settled on the battlefield, not on the forums.
Also there was no repercussion about DFD guys trolling Plazek's name and the 22nd's in public server and their captain defending them. Also there was no repercussion for REF wanting to restart the rounds time and time again until they knew where we were going in the match. Lust said, and I quote,
But, like I said, it's a matter of respect and courtesy. I can't see a satisfactory way of enforcing this. There will likely be problems and complaints etc.. it's very iffy territory.
This too is a matter of respect and courtesy. RN shouldn't accept the forfeit win if they have any class or decency, I know 100% we wouldn't have. I'm open for even ping rematch to give them a third opportunity to prove to themselves that they are better than us. We've met twice and both times 22nd has prevailed as the winner. 22nd will not suffer it's second loss of it's history because of some silly new rule which we didn't even break since Nico went to the server on teh 13th, before 18th when the rule was made. I had no reason whatsoever to believe that Nico wasn't part of the team.
If this flawed decision stays I'm not sure what the aftereffect will be. It's a sad stain in ENL and in Warband clan history. I signed up for a competitive tournament, not paperwork screwjob tournament that is losing it's ground really quick.
