What women used to fight around 1066 in England unless they were fighting for their lives while getting raided or raped?

Some did yes - not many I'll grant you, but some women fought.

Oh, no, not this argument again.

Please show us some proof of fighting women in this period that isn't an obscure legend or a women fighting for her life as a civilian, make-shift soldier.

The known examples throughout history are extremely sparse, and can as far as I know be counted on one hand. And these were often tomboys disguising themselves as men to do men's work or more symbolic fighters ( like Jeanne d'Arc ).

I love Cora the screaming berserker though, and wouldn't like to put any restrictions on gender in the mod ( there aren't many of them anyway ).

Show us some Evidence that they didn't

We don't really know enough about this era to say one way or the other.

Fixed that last bit for you.

The onus is on you to back up your claim. It is common knowledge that they did not. Seek and ye shall find (google it, as we say now).

Apart from a tiny, tiny, tiny number of women who found themselves in positions of power due to marriage or blood (or lunacy),  women were not warriors, were not professional soldiers, were not included in part-time militias.
They did not take part in organised warfare.

I'm sorry my friend, that simply isn't how scientific conclusions are reached. Modern secular science is conducted through the philosophy ( and sub-philosophies ) of Positivism which among other things builds on positive verification.

That isn't to say for sure there were no female fighters, of course, but it's somewhat safe to say we would have heard about it in the sources we do have if it was in any way common and we do know a lot about women's role in the societies in question.

Say women option for player characters were removed, what would become of ones that are already there? Obligatory gender change?
Btw this reminds me I must check women berserker .
Edit: just checked women berserker now I will have nightmares .

It's not an argument, it's an opinion, one that is most likely far more educated than yours if you really believe women fought on battlefields at this time.

Aside the very few females who came to power in one way or another, women did not actively fight on the battlefield in this era,  the only time they would have fought is to defend the children and themselves in a raid scenario or something similiar.

There is proof everywhere of this and even the thousands of writings and artworks contain nothing about 'women warriors' during these times, that's because they did not fight in battles, they were not trained in war, they stayed home and tended to everything else that needed to be done, they were not equals, they were weak and fragile in the mens eyes and would just be a distraction. I'm not sexist or trying to degrade women, but that's just how it was.

Even in this day and age, women are allowed in the military, but they are NOT allowed to serve in primarily combat units and you will not find them out in the field.

But yeah, what I said wasn't an argument, it was an opinion, for me there is no immersion or a 'realistic and accurate' feel when there are women running around the battlefield screaming, because that would be 'fantasy' rather than historical.
