The Chieftian had stabbed frodo with a spear. They would try to get revenge later by attacking the Fellowship on Amon Hen with the help of orcs from Mordor in service of Sauron and Uruk-Hai of Isengard in the service of Saruman the White now Saruman of many Colorus.
