This is a great idea, and somewhat overlaps with one of my previous ideas - having top-tier troops to also use abilities, not only the player. For an example, Lion Infantry would gather in groups and battlecry, strongly demoralizing nearby enemies. Marksmen could become very accurate for short periods of time or something else, or something else. And yeah, village elders could inspire friendlies. Indeed, this is to be looked into...

Hmm well since it's village elder and they'd give more inspiration then actual support perhaps we give units a boost in agi when he's around? The speed= vigorous/ferocity as a representation of their determination. While troops could be str which allows them to last longer on the field due to health. Of course I do not know how these are coded in so forgive me if it's not of any help.

Every time I see the world map, I'm struck with awe. Really awesome. Kudos to Computica who did the terrific base for it, and to me for everything else. :)
I decided to take a few screenies.
(click to show/hide)
I'm also considering a name change. From easy-normal-hard, I could change them to something more interesting - like Recruit, Regular, Veteran. We will see.

Now two screens of the map I'm so awed of.

These things aside, a progress report:
Thing is, I have a habit of beginning twenty things simultaneously and finishing none of them, so I'm kinda finished with the economy, but took up doing custom banners, and now I'm trying to fix them too... Anyways, I'm working on the mod, and it is very much alive.

Yes. The map lags. Just a bit if you're moving around, if you're waiting (space is being held down) it's a bit more, and if you're waiting fast (ctrl + space), the lag is bad.
I've decided to do something interesting, though - I made villages normally invisible - now you have to be in a specific range in order to see them - much like other moving parties on the map. IIRC, this range is governed by the spotting skill. I wonder if there's a way to increase it a bit though. The invisible villages method helps quite a lot, I think.
Anyways, I think I've located the bug related to banners, and I believe I could fix it quite soon. :)

Oh, something else. By using methods of clever programming, I managed to reduce the loading time from around 5 minutes to about a minute and a half. :)

I know about this problem, and I'm investigating. Be sure that it'll be fixed in the next version, even if I have to rewrite the code from scratch.
For now, I can do nothing. I've tested with a Soldier class and it works well.
But look it on the bright side, there isn't anything too much after this quest. Actually this is the last quest from the main story for now. (I'll have a lot more in the next version, though)

I'm trying your mod and have to say it's the largest map and number of factions ever which is brilliant.
If you manage to name all the towns and castles it'll make the game much more immersive.  The map is kinda laggy though and the load time to get into the game is around 5+ minutes for me.

All up really really good so far, I can't wait to see where this mod goes.

i have some cool sugestions

. Extended prisoner dialog - you can now have real conversations with your prisoners and even kill lords (not sure how this would work with the other stuff, but it's a nice addition). Even more extended by me - you can now eat your prisoners. Lords are only to be killed, though

Religion system
New Buildings for towns,villages
 Hunting mod
Battering rams - crush a every door open with your rams
Taxes system - collect your taxes with a single click. Or, collect a war tax - a quick way for lots of money
Rebellion system - but if you drain you fiefs too much, a rebellion is upon you
. Extended tournaments - Jousting tournaments and lot, lot more.
Realistic kingdoms (although with lesser lords) - each kingdom now governs vast amounts of territory, for realistic lenght of travels. It's a large continent after all
New heroes that will appeal during your adventures.
decapitation - if the final blow is strong enough and you hit somewhere in the neck of your enemy you will cut his head
Spears that break on impact.
Forced recruits v2.0
Join any side of a battle v1.0
Improved Buildings v1.04
Bodyguards/Escorts in Town/Village Scenes v2.0,
new ” npcs like clerics, bards,  spies, shepherds.
. -Messaging system – you can hire messengers (the spy unit) and send them to Lords (right button mouse) for trade, a challenge to a duel, insults, even give gifts!
.Plagues and famines system.
Ambience sounds. Town walkers cry sentences and talk to each other, the smith and the carpenter work and dogs bark.
New Events
NPC enemies the ability to surrender  a example
My 200+ strong army surrounds a band of 14 looters.

Surrender or die! we scream.

Never! they reply, only to go half-naked and screaming to their brutal deaths.
that doesnt make sense
Better combat animations
Fire Arrows
AI killable civilians if its possible
Animated flags
Archer's contest - pretty much shooting practice but with ability to make bets.
Knight tournament -
