Sir Lothair

Sergeant Knight
Since I've read a few posts about a speed bar on the world map, and I've also read a few about how it wont be realistic, I propose a forced march option. It could be initiated through a button or some such thing, and it could boost your speed by about 2 for a set amount of time. The time it lasts could depend on your pathfinding skills and leadership skills.

Or perhaps it would not have a set amount of time, it just takes away some of your health (Which could be used for a fatigue meter), your troops could go unconscious (Too tired to go on). And if too many of your troops go unconscious, your speed would actually SLOW down. Also, if left on for too long, your leadership would go down because your troops are losing respect for you as a leader.

Any opinions? Sorry if this has been suggested before, or if this topic has been discussed many times...

I like the idea. The best implementation may be to have forced march increase your speed while lowering morale. The lowered morale effect could be somewhat mitigate by a higher leadership skill.

I could see morale as being a REALLY cool dynamic thing... and entire system in fact. For instance, you are in battle... every troop in your party that falls lowers morale a bit. Every enemy troop that your party takes down would boost your morale. If morale grows too low during battle, your troops would flee from the battlefield. If it gets high they would get speed bonuses as well as damage and accuracy bonuses. Much like the idea of battle momentum.

Starvation, this proposed "forced march", running from battles, quest completion and failure could all affect this. Morale was a very large part of medieval warfare.

I think that every thread in the 'suggestion' section could be put into one category- more depth. A more intricate morale system, a bigger and more varied world map, more factions, specialised tournaments and more ai commands just to name a few.

I think it's amazing that Armagan is actually listening to his players suggestions and requests. The game is still in the beta stage and is already more fun then most EA titles, and is more stable then your average Derek Smart game, imagine what it would be if all these ideas were well implemented! I'm not trying to put pressure on Armagan here, but I think with time, this could become one of the greatest fantasy games ever.

a high leadership skill should also give lots of bonuses to your army as well, so charcaters who are 100% commanders and dont fight at all could actually be feasable
