Gergovia - Scene in progress (done)
« on: February 16, 2009, 08:09:33 PM »
Gergovia, the ancient capital of the Arverni, is the representing capital for the Gaul federation.

I'm not working off any layout, and this will be the first scene for Gaul, which I will learn to play with building Oppida.

Heh heh - anyone who thought taking a Celtic capital would involve burning down some mud huts on top of a hill had better think again.

Can you reduce the polygons of those scenes down a bit? I really am concerned that my PC will not be able to keep up in those scenes. :|

Wow, damn ealabor, you've been busy.
Oh, also, while I was out looking for a new forum pic, because I was bored, I came across the one I have now, as you can see, and I thought it would be just perfect for one of the loading screens/etcetera. Even if just for satire, it would be kickass.

Yeah...

(looks in right hand) - Mod titled 268 B.C.,  circa... 268 B.C.

(looks in left hand) - Avatar of a soldier wearing Imperial Gallic with Centurion crest, circa... NOT 268 B.C. Mod is to feature this as a loading screen, meaning this will be a first impression people will see of mod.

Well, not exactly. Depends on your perspective. The helmet itself, at least to me, looks of bronze make, similar to what you have in your mod. The crest, obviously, is rather out of date, but if there is anything that makes a roman identifiable at a roman, it is the crest; otherwise people would be wondering why a carthaginian was advertising for the legion . And also, at least there isn't anything obviously out of date (besides the crest, of course), like say a lorica segmentica or something of the like.

Besides, its just a suggestion. Make what you will of it.

Thanks, and it's great that you would want to suggest for the mod, but i've already got art in place courtesy of Shumate
